Have never seen Svengoolie, though I am familiar with who he is (and the original). But am a huge horror fan and have seen all the films you listed.

Growing up my horror hosts were Elvira, and Captain USA (from USA Network), we didn't have a local horror host, unfortunately, the closest we had was a local car dealer who would introduce movies (mainly horror) weekday afternoons on our local CBS.

If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend the documentary American Scary, it's about the history of American horror hosts.

I'm a fan. He's playing "The Wolf Man" tonight, and between 10:15 and 10:25 tonight ET, he inserted a brief clip from a Shemp-era Three Stooges.

Did anyone else notice this?

I was just remembering how I loved it when he showed the 1962 "Phantom of the Opera." Here is the schedule this month:

4/9 Bride of Frankenstein
4/16 King Kong vs. Godzilla
4/23 Murders in the Zoo
4/30 The Car

I wonder if The Car will be in Svensurround like the last time it was shown.

I hope "The Car" will be in Svensurround on 4/30. And I guess I was thinking about it but am wondering -- is it a ghost of some dead criminal trying to kill his enemies? A driverless car seems weird to me -- and a ghost for this kind of movie seems logical to me. I refuse to read Wikipedia entries for movies before the movies because they spoil the fun!

I'd like him to bring back "Ssssss" sometime like this summer or fall or whenever. I've never seen that movie and it's from the '70s so that would be a treat! Big, giant Sven fan right here!

H'm..not sure about the car, either. Would like to see the snake flick again. Has Heather Menzies, who's also in one of my favorite fin flicks, "Piranha" (1978).

The Car if it's driven by anyone would probably be The Devil. The car is from hell.

Yes but oddly I like him more than most of the movies. Some are great but his comic bits make them better.

I agree, some of his movies are great like "Frankenstein", "Bride of Frankenstein", "The Invisible Man", "The Shadow of the Cat", "Boy Who Cried Werewolf", etc. but he definitely makes them better with his bits!

Cool

Unfortunately our local ME-Tv affiliate regularly pre-empts Svengoolie in favor of local programming.

What do you mean? This past Saturday, I fairly enjoyed King Kong vs. Godzilla. This was my 2nd time watching it. Murders in the Zoo on Saturday! Looking forward to it!
