I don't watch Reality or Judge Shows but they seem to do this on most shows.

No one likes it, but it's obviously done intentionally to keep you there thru the commercials.

I don't watch any of those shows, but I know what you're referring to.Most modern TV programs of any type seem to be built around the commercials.Since many TV channels have become so unethical, the final commercial break of whatever they're showing makes people wait 5 minutes or so just so they can see the final minute of the program. This never used to happen years ago.

The only reality show I watch is Face Off, and they do do that on there, when they're about to announce that week's winner they cut to commercial. But I DVR everything so I just have to forward to the reveal.

everyone hates that - its why they do it in every fricken reality show out there!!! the only ones I really watch are like Next Food Network Star, and I just DVR the show so I can fast forward through the commercial and the 60 second recap of what happened before the commercial.

You do realize they do that to keep you watching the show?

Madderest

Whenever I was visiting a friend or relative who was watching Dope-ra Winfield (Or any other Talk Show) I noticed they did this. I just can't fathom how people put up with this but I guess this what they called "Learned Helplessness" in Psych 101. I notice this is done in movies as well. Well folks, we all know how I avoided becoming "We the Sheeple" so I won't delve into this any further.

PS. You just don't want to how much I had to restrain myself from a classic case of "Frustration Aggression" (Also taught in Psych 101) a little over nine years ago when I saw that "Blue Pill" Ad on a kids show!

Yes, I find it irritating. I think Fear Factor started the trend, where a contestant would perform a stunt, and they cut to commercial midway through.

I know that it's meant to build suspense, but it's still pretty annoying. On so many shows, it's become predictable and cliche.

No. TV shows were doing it years before that.

That's the point, guys. They want you to stay tuned through the commercials and they have to fill the entire timeslot...
