Default BettyWhiteFan has been banned (Thank Heavens)

Although I never issued a bad trader post for BettyWhiteFan, he certainly deserved one. The one trade I had with him was a complete disaster. He was frequently rude and impatient, kept demanding things after the trade was agreed to, put his stuff on crap discs, lied constantly, had numerous delays in shipping, was evasive, amongst a whole host of other undesirable things. He also created multiple accounts here, which of course, isn't allowed.

I don't know why or when he was banned, I'm just glad he's gone. Not sure if anyone else had a bad experience with this Atlanta-based trader, but you don't have to worry about him anymore.

EDIT: Okay, someone else did have a bad experience with him. Totally forgot about this:

Right, I linked to that to show that somebody else had a bad experience with him. Hopefully April4972 will chime in here as I don't know if she ever got her discs or not.

His name is Michael Shipman of Lawrenceville, Georgia. I mention that in case he tries to create yet another identity here.

as far as I know he never sent April her disks - he said that the only way he would send the disks he owed he was if I removed all of the negative (but completely true) posts about him, which I refused to do (I discussed this privately with April first).

A couple years ago I actually had 2 successful trades with him though they were very small and I told wiseguy that I thought he was honest, (sorry wiseguy) turns out I was wrong. We had a bad trade where he shorted me a couple discs then greatly exaggerated the quality of stuff saying it was great quality when it was terrible. Also, I had a friend who purchased a show from Ioffer which was supposed to be complete the show was missing a bunch of episodes. Turns out it was him. When my friend asked for the missing discs he reported her to Ioffer as harrasing him. I dont purchase from ioffer, but if anyone else does he used to go by the name of fantasticclassics.

He's clearly a nutcase and I feel sorry for anyone who's had to deal with him.

I think his previous identity on here was "tvshowsrock" or something like that. I'd have to do a lot of digging to be sure. Clearly, he's using a lot of aliases.

Yep, he's bad news. A few years back I did some trades with him. Crappy discs but I get everything I had requested. But what really got me was almost everything I sent him wound up for sale on iOffer.

It really seemed like he was only into this to make money.

Thanks for the info. I can't stand people whose sole interest in this hobby is to make a profit. It appears his ioffer account has been removed. Good.

On the other thread I linked to, he talked about how he had 'good feedback on here and how he could prove it.' The thing is, I couldn't find one single positive feedback post for him, under either of his accounts. The thread was closed before I had a chance to respond with that.

Nope, never did get my discs unfortunately. He was banned as Betty actually a long time ago but his JoshLarson24 ID still posts.

Yep.. BettyWhiteFan is bad news. Not to mention a jerk to the real Betty White by making her name be identified with a crummy trader.

Betty don't play that.:bettywhiteemojithatdoesn'texist:

His name on iOffer was/is fantasticclassics just in case some form of that shows up on this board.

In our trade he played the "dead relative card" to try to turn things around and somehow make me feel bad that I was hounding him through PM's and emails to finally fulfill his end of our swap agreement I guess.

I had reluctantly agreed to mail my discs first to him because he had a convincing sob story that I fell for. But never received any discs from him in return (and still haven't) and he completely stopped all communication with me after the email I sent him saying they were on the way... which was just a quick "Thanks" from him. But I knew through USPS tracking he had received the discs.

When he finally contacted me he told me he had just spent the last months at his Grandmas bedside caring for her in her final moments and to stop emailing him. But this was after almost 3 months of complete radio silence from him.. but weekly (then daily bombardments) of a request for info of what was going on...to him from me.

Obviously I didn't believe that then and really didn't believe it a bit later when I saw all the posts on here that had cropped up about his other sketchy trades and his eventual banning.

I agree with April above in that JoshLarsen seems to be an alias of his. This post CLICK HERE happened after I had revisited trying to contact BettyWhiteFan again several months later when I discovered he was selling some of the series that I knew he had gotten from traders I had met here on this site.. on his iOffer store. I mean I figured if he was feeling up to making money off of them he must be over his poor grannies death by then.

I had been emailing him again about the trade (with only one "stop contacting me" response from him so I knew he was getting them) and this post happened during that

Robyrob's comment in that thread makes me chuckle every time especially when reading Larsen's clueless followup response.

But also Josh had an interesting knack of talking about all of the series that BettyWhiteFan just happened to have for sale on his iOffer page (What's Happening Now.. etc) here in the forums and asking for help in how to set a TV to play so as to record things in certain ratios and things like that and if people had accurate airdate guides for the series for him to make sure it was complete.

Possible coincidence I guess but...

Ok things are starting to make sense now. In 2013 I made a purchase from him for the near-complete IT'S A LIVING set which I received in a timely manner. A year or so later, I contacted him again because I wanted the ONE DAY AT A TIME set that was recorded from Comedy Gold. It never came and I was given the sick relative excuses, and the 'it-must-have-gotten-lost-in-the-mail-I-will-send another' brush off. Nothing ever came of it and I was out around $55.

So wait, Josh Larson and BettyWhiteFan are the same person? Very surprising because I thought Josh was a good poster.

And according to a post above Josh is really Michael. The internet is a convoluted place.

I made a trade with him thats how he got that One Day At A Time Comedy Gold Set and It was complete and for some reason he was advertising it as complete and not sending every episode when someone purchased it.

When I mentioned (and backed up April) of the JoshLarsen connection to BettyWhiteFan on here it was with no ill intent to ruin an innocent persons rep on the site. And I say that with confidence because JoshLarsen and BettyWhiteFan/TVShowsRock/Mike Shipman are one in the same. Theres no doubt there for me.

I ended my post with "Possible conincidence I guess but .." and that was said with 100% sarcasm. I could fill post after post on here with excerpts from other message board conversations, PM's, emails etc.from BettyWhiteFan that you could cross reference with every post Larsen has ever made on here to see what we have seen for over a year.

This person has done a lot of despicable things to people in this community and over the past 15 months or so that he showed up with the new name (conveniently just days after BettyWhiteFan was banned in October 14') it's been a thorn in my side seeing his constant posts in some of my favorite Show threads. To the point where I just stopped coming to the board at all until I was contacted recently about my experience with him.

I realized I dropped the ball though. I left because it sucked to see him get to come back and play on here with zero consequences. But I also let down others in doing that.

While there are no board records of Larsen initiating trades that I've found. That doesn't mean people weren't lured to him through his hundreds of posts in the actual TV Show threads where he says over and over things like "I have this complete rare series recorded from Antenna TV, Bounce, etc" And with the PM system on here it's very possible several people 'did' contact him for trades.. or more likely he sold to them since he's seemingly much more about the money he can make off of nostalgia than he is about being a classic TV fan.

So for that reason I've decided to make more of the effort I should have done back last year when it became clear to me that Mike Shipman had come back from the dead as JoshLarsen

As I mentioned I could fill several posts with examples but here are the two latest that deserve mentioning. Both are screenshots. The first is the email confirmation that users get when someone responds to a post.. You notice that JoshLarsen did post to this thread right after I did (but before Kasey) but then deleted the comment almost immediately. This is something BettyWhiteFan did constantly.. check out the linked thread in the very first post in this one for a good example of those disappearing comments that don't paint him in the best light.

The second pic is more incriminating. Not long after this thread was created.. putting BettyWhiteFan back in the news and recalling his past history with April's post about him.. Josh posted to an old thread where she had answered a question of his with a little (much deserved to Larsen considering their history) sarcasm. But look closely.. the post April made was way back in Dec 14' JoshLarsen responded only a few days ago and the very obvious dig to April.. in my opinion.. is extremely telling. Screencap is below in case he edits the message after I post this but you can visit original thread link HERE
