Default Alternate Opening Credits?

Ok, on the first episode aired in the marathon today (and I think the second too), the opening credits were different. The scenes in them and everything were the same, but the typeface of all of the credits -- the name of the show, the cast members, etc. -- were different than what I'm used to seeing. Instead of the more ornamental writing of the first season credits, this was a more basic font, with everyone's names in italics. It almost looks like it was created in recent years, and slapped onto the show. It was very weird. I admit several of the first-season episodes I haven't seen, but those I have (as well as the first season opening available on Youtube) all have that more ornamental writing. Anyone else notice this and can explain?

Also, I noticed the first few episodes of the marathon were not credit crunched. Or even credit squeezed. As much as I tell people the credit crunching is not a big deal, that at least we have the show at all ..... I have to admit, it was a delight seeing the end sequence again, and hearing the fun closing theme. I remember when Antenna started doing the credit crunching, at first they'd only credit-crunch the first show in the back-to-back airings; the second show they'd leave alone. I'd love it if they'd at least go back to that way. The way it stands now, for the vast majority of their shows you never hear the closing theme song anymore.

Alas, I'm guessing someone at Antenna woke up or something, because after a few episodes the credit crunch was back again.

I turned it on too late and they were credit crunching again so I turned it off. I'm sure Pat Harrington and Bonnie Franklin were spinning in their graves. They wouldn't like their show credit crunched if they were here.

But anyways, about that font. I remember watching this some last April, and I think the first few episodes of Season 1 had that more ornamental writing, but later ones had the italics. Then, the more familiar font came along in Season 2. I think the bigger title logo didn't start until 4 or 5.

I just hope Shout will put this on DVD.
