One piece of trivia that I learned about a long time ago is that this show's Helen Hunt auditioned for the part of Katie from "Gimme a Break!". For those of you who do not watch that show, Katie was the eldest of three daughters of a widowed police chief in a fictional suburban town in California. Even though Helen did not get the part, she did get a one-time appearance on the show. I believe that the episode that she appeared in was the last episode of the first season. It was called "An Unmarried Couple". In this episode, she played Katie's pregnant friend Valerie. This episode will be on the W.B. Channel 11 at 3 o'clock tomorrow morning. The first season of "Gimme a Break!" was the school year of 1981/82. By the time this episode was made, it was already 1982. "Mad About You" came out in 1993. This being the case, Helen Hunt was the one-time character of Valerie one decade before she became the world famous Jamie Buchman!
