Default How About Consolidating These Threads?

I mean the threads announcing that some minor player, director, writer, prop man of some 1950's or 1960's series has died. I don't mean stars, I mean people that most of us never heard of - even we trivia buffs - or have forgotten about that lived well into their 80's or 90's. Can't there be one thread for these instead of one thread for each person? There are no or few comments for each person. We just have no connection to these people.

Can you provide links to some of the 'minor players' as you call them? I'm also not aware of any obits for a prop man and if I posted one it was long ago and forgotten about. Those threads along with ones of major stars will eventually be lost in the shuffle so consolidating them would seem rather pointless.

I'm sure I could go on for a month but here's a quick sample. They include a casting director, the creator of a game show, the inventor of the Batmobile and one of Gladys Knight's Pips.

Someone already started a Celebrity Death 2016 thread on the Chit Chat board.

Thank you for the links, I actually made the suggestion several years ago to consolidate all the obit topics at the end of the year into one in memoriam thread. At the time it seemed like a good idea but was considered morbid by some and was quickly forgotten about.

If the idea is to post all obit threads there except for major stars then I have a few issues with that. The thread for TC casting director David Graham should help illustrate my point. If this obit had been posted into a consolidated thread instead of the TC board where it belongs then some fans here might not have seen it. TC is one of our most popular boards so if anyone connected to that series was to pass away then a separate thread is started plus it's far more-likely to be seen rather than just being added to an existing thread. I won't dissect each example you gave but George Barris, David Canary & William Guest were well-known within their respective professions and deserved their own threads. Keep in mind that someone you may think is a bit player might not be to the next person. David Canary, a bit player? I don't think so.

I think that filling the board with separate threads for all these people is much more morbid than one thread. TV began in the 1950's so now there's a steady stream of people who worked in TV that die. When someone like Wayne Rogers dies everyone will notice and many will comment. I'm sure the guy that invented the Batmobile was important to his family but I don't think people here were wondering the day before he died whatever happened to the guy that invented the Batmobile. I would think the standard should be that people that are discussed here regularly should be mentioned when they die. But I don't think most people are interested in the death of a 95 year old person that directed 6 episodes of Hazel, even if they watched Hazel. That's just my opinion and this is the suggestion thread.
