Default To The Long Time WINGS fans

Whenever I really become enamoured of a show, I always try to watch it from the beginning. And , with only a few exceptions, have been doing that with WINGS. Q: Would it be bad to skip from from S3 into S5? My library had S#s 1-2-3-5 so I immediately checked all out. They didn't have 4. If I do this, what important story lines/ plots would I miss from skipping S#4? And maybe I might get lucky and it might be back by the time I finish S#3-but just in case-fill me in!

(I may end up buying the series. Best Buy had it for $30 but it was only 16 DVDs- which makes me suspect there's recording on both sides-Which I hate. But I L-O-V-E this show so much I may end up buying it. And that's a HUGE compliment to the show- itwould be the 5th show where I have everything)

The only thing bad I have to say about the show is that there are only 172 eps. Every time I watch it I wish it were 11,172. It truly is a sweet, funny and endearing show.

Season four is a pretty big season, actually, story-wise. I think it's just best to watch 4 before 5. I mean, I guess you wouldn't be totally lost starting with season 5 but there are a couple of story archs that wouldn't be the same watching it in reverse. When you do see season 4, you're in for a treat. I think it's the best season.

BTW, I'm loving how much you love this show. "Wings" doesn't seem to get too much attention these days - even on these boards anymore - so it's nice to see someone genuinely enjoying the show for the first time. You're kind of getting me interested in the show again.

My preference is to watch the Seasons in order. But I'd hate to not watch S5 because I don't have S4.

I just finished watching the S2 ep where Joe gives Helen his mother's cameo (the gift giving ep where that ratfink Brian once again upstages Joe(until the end anyways). I'm beginning to notice that the endings seem to end on a sweet tender note.

I'm totally addicted. I had to go out and do some food shopping, and while I was doing that I was thinking how much I can hardly wait to get back and watch more eps. I guess that makes me a hard core fan.

I don't have the complete series, I bought the season sets when they came out, but from what I read the complete series set uses single sided discs. I'd buy it. For $30 that's a great deal and about how much I paid for each season of Wings. Read reviews about the video quality first if that's a concern. Seasons 2-6 are essential, IMO. Lots of great episodes during season 4.

Well, there are 172 eps so that'd mean 10-11 eps per disc. That sounds like they'd be double-sided, which I really dislike. But $30 is a fantastic price so I'm going to check this set out further.

This is sneaky, but if you've never subscribed to Hulu, you could sign up for the free trial, watch WINGS season 4 and then cancel. They don't have all the episodes though so you're probably better off just springing for the complete set.

This was one of my favorite shows from the 90's. I agree watch season 4 before 5.

I don't have the Mill Creek box set for "Wings" but I do have the "Roseanne" one. It has more seasons (thus more episodes & discs) and it's all single sided discs. I would imagine "Wings" is too.

I only have an iPad and analog TV with a converter box, otherwise I'd consider Hulu. But it will take me a while to get to the end of S3, so maybe S4 will show up in the library before I finish S3. I'm praying nobody puts a hold on this, since I only have these until Monday.

I have a few complete series sets from Mill Creek and they were all single sided discs. They like to cram a lot of episodes on a disc sometimes though. I know they put 13 episodes on each single sided disc on a few of the Married With Children season sets.

That's good to know that you can get many eps on a side. Because I really LOVE this show and would hate to have them on double-side recorded discs; my Reba eps came that way and it just feels so cheesy- and I absolutely DO NOT want cheesy DVDs of a show I adore.

I understand. Some of my favorite shows that I have on DVD (Bob Newhart, Dallas, Dukes) have double sided discs and it gets to be a pain sometimes to have to flip them over and they are more prone to fingerprints and dust.

Exactly-they damage more easily...ugh...I hate them.
