Yesterday Morning, I watched a couple of episode of "Friends" on Netflix. One of the episodes reminded me of "Gimme a Break!" on a bunch of different levels. For those of you who do not watch this show, Lisa Kudrow played the duel role of twin sisters. There was Phoebe who was part of the regular cast and Ursula who was seen occasionally. Even though they were identical twins, they had very different personalities. The types of situations that this mismatched pair would find themselves in was similar to the situations that the two girls played by Patty Duke played in the "Patty Duke Show". One issue that both "Friends" and "Gimme a Break!" have dealt with is that of the problems that people cause for themselves when they smoke. In the episode that I saw yesterday, Ursula was out in the hall of the building where a bunch of the characters lived puffing on a cigarette. At the time, she was dating a guy who she knew would not approve of such behavior. When the man steps out into the hall, Ursula attempt to plant the cigarette on Phoebe and says, "I wish you would stop that filthy disgusting habit!" For a female to be in denial about the fact that she smokes was very similar to the events in the second-season episode "Julie Smokes". On top of that, whenever I hear the word disgusting, my mind always travels back to the third-season episode "Samantha's Protest". Disgusting is the word that Julie used to describe the way that Katie positioned her body at the demonstration in this episode. I was fourteen years old when this episode came out. I was very filled up by Julie's sense of decency and sophistication. On top of all of this, when I was in my early twenties, I developed a very big interest in left-handedness. Both Kari Michaelsen (Katie) and Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe/Ursula) are left-handed. This being the case, all of the episodes that I described are episodes of shows that feature a token lefty!

I'm left handed and I've watched all the shows discussed in this thread!
