Default Who are some "Good guys" That turned up being bad? (Or at least speculated as such)

Hi all, forgive me if this has been posted in the past, but I was just wondering if any of you know who are some of the "good guys" such as law enforcement, witnesses, et cetera, who ended up not being so good after all. A few that come to mind for me, would be the cop in segment in which Gloria Ross and Candy Belt were murdered. Also I have read a lot of people suspect the police may have had something to do with the Freeman/Bible murders and disappearances. Who are some of your picks??

Good question!

1) I would say Rick McCue. Innocent of Lulu Corshane's murder, but was arrested later for sexually assaulting a disabled woman.

2) The doctor in the after death segment (who worked on the little girl who drowned and then came back to life) was arrested for waterboarding abuse of his children.

3) Kevin Hughes' boss, interviewed in the segment, helped orchestrate his murder/knew who was behind it. I forget how much he was involved in setting Kevin up, but he had the gall to be interviewed. He died before he could be charged and the hitman was caught.

I'm sure there are plenty more.

Great question Ostaro1977! The Police department in the Bible / Freeman disappearance are so corrupt it's not funny.

The other case of the boy who was trying to cross the Freeway near Tijuana and ended up being hit by a car - The Law enforcement officials seemed crooked as a dog's back leg…or very incompetent at best.

Also, the case where the Cop burnt the mattress that may have held clues to Eric Tamiyasu's murder.

Sorry, I'm veering off topic a little here towards "Bent Cops on UM".

I LOVE this question!

That being said, I can't really think of any that haven't been named.

Thanks for all the positive feedback, everyone...another one that came to mind, would be the Noe (I think that's the last name) family. They are the ones highly suspected of the disappearance (and later confirmed to me murder, I believe) of that mother, her sister in law, and her young daughter. That family rubbed me the wrong way from the beginning, even the grandmother! But then again, after seeing several of the cases in which the grandparents abduct/corrupt the grandkids (Satanic grandma anyone?) That just proves that age is nothing more than a number. I was also highly suspicious of Mr. Pollis, (Charlotte's husband), Mr Caylor (Dottie's hubby) as well as the boyfriend of the cocktail waitress whose car was discovered abandoned on the side of the road. One of the few spouses/boyfriends, etc, that I always did feel to be genuine however, is Angela Hammond's boyfriend. It broke my heart to see that he was so close to saving her...very unfortunate that he didn't just jump in his car and come check on her when he offered to, or she may have escaped that awful fate...very tragic case. What about Danny Casolaro? Could the government had something to do with that do ya think? Mob hit? Suicide to me seems so far fetched that it isn't even funny...

YES! I completely forgot about Eric...that case was strange indeed. If the cop didn't do it, then he was either very ignorant/untrained, or DEFINITLEY had something to hide...if he didn't do it, I'm willing to bet he knew more than he would say.

Paul Pollis was an "esteemed guest" of the boards several years ago. Those were a fun couple of days. I have no doubt he murdered his wife.

As for the cocktail waitress, I believe that's Tara Breckinridge. Her boyfriend Wayne Hecker is also highly suspect, at least in my opinion.

I totally agree that Rob Schafer had no role in Angela Hammond's disappearance. As you're here longer, you'll see that once every couple of years, we have a debate about it, but I think the majority feels that the poor dude did everything he could have to save Angela.

Oh, Danny Casoloro-- that's actually a pretty well debated one on these boards. I lean murder. I know several others who would say suicide.

Hi Ricci! Nice to hear from you again. Wow Paul was actually here on the boards?? That had to be...interesting to say the least. And yup you are right about the waitress. Tara Brekinridge. The name came back to me right when u mentioned her. I can still remember her face. I highly suspect her boyfriend as well. Have there been other witnesses/family members, etc on here as well? IIRC wasn't Jeremy Bright's mother and sis on her awhile back? I often wonder how the families of these victims feel, knowing people like us care enough about what happened to their loved ones to keep their memories alive, and their cases as open as possible... Back to the question at hand...What is your take on the Freeman/Bible case? Do you feel that Mr. Freeman's cryptic message to his brother has merit? Or do you think something else happened that night? I'm very curious and intrigued about this case...one of the most curious one, IMO.

Another supposed "good guy" (and one of my personal faves, as most of you probably know) is Bonnie Wilder. Everyone at the store she worked at thought she was very important to the operations and an extremely loyal employee, until she ran off with the cash and got away with it.

The family in the lake wales haunting episode: The son (Alan)was charged in june of 1991 with Battery. Then he was charged in 1993 with domestic violence spousal battery. In 1994 he was charged with a felony of firing a gun in public as well as "Improper exhibit of a firearm-dangerous."

The mother was charged with selling marijuana in 1993 and in 1999 she was charged with public consumption.

Now we know why they were seeing things.

James Blackburn, the prosecutor who convicted Jeffrey MacDonald, was disbarred and spent time in prison for many ethical violations, including embezzling money, shortly after he was interviewed on UM.

Or what about those two DJ's who had that phone line where a caller confessed to a murder. One of them said he hoped it was a hoax because he'd hate to think someone was murdered. Of course it was, and they orchestrated the whole thing, and they guy who actually called in and "confessed" ended up getting a job at the station.
I wonder if they are still on the air.
