Oh cool! Thanks for the heads up! I think I get this channel on DIRECTV!

I've never seen this show so I will give it a shot.

[QUOTE=Becca3557]Great! Love that show![/QUOTE/

I've been watching the episodes(they have been coming on at 9 to 11 am) everyday. And I really like the show. I had only seen two episodes before and liked one(Triple Date where Jason Allen's girlfriends father doesn't approve of him), and didn't like another(the one where Bruno Kirby plays a scheming student, though I really like this episode now). The show is a perfect combination of Drama and Comedy. Great acting from the main cast of teachers and solid performances from the students(mostly Richie Lane, Jason Allen, Bernie, and Helen)!

I've been watching repeats of the series on Aspire TV. I don't know why the episodes have been neglected as far as restoration goes, the video image is soft and the color looks washed out and faded. In the unrestored condition they are, it does give the episodes a cool retro look, it sort of takes you back to the early 1970's. During the 5th season, the show was failing in the ratings and was cancelled in mid season, that's why season 5 has only 14 episodes.

I have the DVD's of seasons 1 and 2, because of low sales the other seasons haven't gotten released. That's too bad because Room 222 is a good show, it's dated when compared to high school life today, but most of the episodes have good writing and tell an interesting story.

Yeah! Room 222 was really a good show! You would like it Sven! Being a high school student, you could see how high school was in the late 60's- early70's!

The show was realistic ,very cool and entertaining !

We don't get aspire

I have fond memories of watching Room 222 as a kid. Had a major crush on Karen Valentine.

Me too, I was a kid when I watched it first run! Karen Valentine was really cute! My Mother had a crush on Mr. Dixon! I remember a student ( a white kid) with a big red afro! And a black kid ( I think named Jason)? And a really shy girl student with long dark hair !

My MOM was right, Mr. Dixon WAS hot!!!

Well it looks like my post from earlier today brought some life to this thread.

Karen Valentine and Denise Nicholas are good looking actresses in this show. Michael Constantine is good as the school principal. And of course, Lloyd Haines as Mr. Dixon the history teacher. All the kids wanted to be in Mr. Dixon's class, as a teacher he was firm but fair, and occasionally offered life advice to students. This was really Lloyd Haines' show as he received top billing in the episodes.

Since seasons 3, 4, and 5 haven't been issued on DVD, I'm glad Aspire TV has been airing the series so episodes from those seasons can be seen. I think the Aspire TV episodes are edited, some scenes are deleted, but it's better than nothing. I'm still holding out some hope that the remainder of the series will get released on DVD, I would buy it if it became available.
