I am reading it right now. It tells a lot about their childhoods and how they got together on the Andy Griffith Show. I would say so far it is worth the read if you are a fan.

Sounds like something I'd enjoy. The Andy Griffith Show is one of my all-time favorites. Thanks for the heads-up!

I read it and thought it was legit take on both performers with as many facets re their work and personalities covered as one could expect without either of them having done a 'tell all'.
I, especially, liked the parts dealing with Don Knotts and believe that a fascinating movie could be made just from his early life and background BEFORE he became Barney. Seriously, Not giving it away but the odds he'd had to overcome are incredible and one would more easily have predicted him becoming a derelict and dying much younger than he did considering. And I say this not just because of this one book but due to other sources confirming this including interviews with the late Mr. Knotts himself. |

Yes I read the book late last fall. Interesting early life of Don. What was interested was how many time each was married. Also that Andy and Aneta were a couple ON and off the show. I do hope she laughed more in real life than she did on the show. Her character was so serious on the show.
