Oh No More Issues with Dunkin' Donuts

We don't have an actual store here and have to get them from Dunkin' Donuts Express at Speedway. I've heard we're supposed to be getting one but it's only a rumor so this will have to do for now. Earlier today I was at Speedway buying some and came across one that was labeled as Manager's special. All the other donuts were labeled like they should be (glazed, jelly, powdered, chocolate, etc..) The Mgr's specials gave no indication as to exactly what it was. All I know was that it was creme-filled donut topped with green & red sprinkles. My niece, who is 5 wanted sprinkles so I asked the cashier if she knew what it was. She replied no and said that they're labeled as Mgr's special by D.D. and not by Speedway. She thought it was either Boston creme which my niece likes or creme cheese which was guaranteed to be spit out. I told her that I thought it was stupid for D.D. to bring donuts into the store and not let the customers know exactly what they were getting. I passed on the Mgr's specials and bought 14 and knew for sure what I was getting.

Smart move! Your niece and I are kindred spirits in a way, as I cannot stand cream cheese either. Glad that you got what you wanted.

Were the managers special greatly reduced? I worked at a market and they would have reduced apples. It could be any several types of apples in the bag but it would be marked down 50%. Usually it was a few days old apples. If you wanted a bargain, they aren't too bad. To label each apple or in your case donuts, it would take time.

No, they were the same price as all the others. Most varieties I can look at and tell what I'm getting but not with these and I wasn't about to risk buying nasty cream cheese.

I love cream cheese. But cream cheese in a doughnut???? Sounds weird-it would give the doughnut a cheesecake like taste I would think. Just curious Charles, do you like cheesecake? I do, but cream cheese in a doughnut still sounds odd.

I love cheesecake but it has to have some type of fruit topping before I'll eat it. Preferably blueberry, cherry, pineapple or strawberry. The thought of it in a donut doesn't thrill me. I'm very peculiar when it comes to certain foods. For example, I can't stand buttermilk nor mayo separately but love ranch dressing.

I know what you mean - I can be quirky with food too. For example, I love raw carrots but can't stand them cooked.

I don't care for celery cooked specially if it is in soups. Raw with cream cheese is fine.

Not revealing food contents is against the law in most states due to food allergies.

My personal opinion is that Dunkin Donuts are crap. They and Baskin Robbins are owned by the same parent company. My cousin owned a string of about 40 including a Dunkin Donuts factory. The company reneged on their contract and my cousin wound up suing them. That has nothing to do with my opinion of the donuts. I just think they stink.

IMO donuts, sugar soda, and practically 95% of fast food is junk food and a fast track to high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes. The last thing I had in a Burger King was a cup of coffee only -- and the same for DD.

And yes, DD's are IMO nothing to write home about. About a half rung above Little Debbie's, Entemen's and the other stuff made in the "chem lab" with liberal doses of tran fats and corn syrup. UGH!
