Default How Often Had Twins Been Depicted?

"Please Don't Eat The Dasies" had two real life twins playing as Trevor and Tracy (if I recall their names right).
"Family Affair " depicted a boy and a girl as twins , Buffy and Jody, (Anissa Jones and Johnny Whittaker respectively) but in real life they were not related and probably not the exact same age

.
Of course Lindsay and Sidney Greenbush (if I have their names right) were twin child actors who took turns playing one character, the youngest daughter in the Ingalls family on "Little House On The Prarie"

And there was an episode of Partridge Family in which identical twins (and nephews of crooner, Andy Williams), Andy and David Williams, played themselves . The two weren't actors but singers and were only mildly popular at the time though they were often promoted in teen magazines as being upcoming teen idols.

However it seems that only in " Please Don't Eat the Dasies " were actual twin actors used to play twins and be among the regular characters.

By the way I have read on sitcomsonline.com that The Partridge Family seems to be a copy of The Brady Bunch, but then it seems that the e Brady Bunch could be a copy of Please Don't Eat The Dasies.

There were real twins on "Everybody Loves Raymond." "Big Brother Jake" had twin characters, but the actors weren't related.

Interesting. Thanks for the replies, people.
I stopped watching a lot of TV in the mid- 80s . So I don't know a great deal about TV shows of the late 80s on.
I have heard a bit about the twin boys who played on "Full House "but I think they were the ones who alternated on the role of the young boy on the movie "Big Daddy" and I did not know the name of the TV show they played in. I heard that they were among the wealthiest kid actors along with the kid who p!ayed Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) but I recently heard that they went bankrupt and one of the twins is working as a busboy in a restaurant

Yeah, it was Dylan and Cole Sprouse that were in Big Daddy and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. I didn't realize that they went bankrupt. That's sad.

I thought of some more...

Mary-Kate and Ashley from Two of a Kind

Riley and Chloe from So Little Time

Tia and Tamara from Sister Sister

Winnie and Nelson from The Cosby Show

Sam and David from 7th Heaven

Patty and Selma from The Simpsons

Sherri and Terri from The Simpsons

Maybe "Bankrupt" may not be the exact word to use, but there is a short mention on YouTube that the twins seem to have eventually hit economic hard times.

It looks like twins have been depicted more often on TV than I realized. (I forgot to mention that twin baby and toddler boys took turns playing "Joey" in "All in The Family").

However except for "Buffy" and "Jody" in "Family Affair" and maybe "Winnie" and "Nelson" in "The Cosby Show" (and I rarely watched The Cosby Show, so I am not familiar with the characters) it seems that overwhelmingly, twins have been portrayed as being identical, and of the same gender. Of course, "Buffy" and "Jody" were not really twins in real life. I don't know about "Winnie" and "Nelson," but if they were not real twins, has there ever been a case of a true male and female twin being on a TV series (or maybe other than "Winnie" and "Nelson"?

Furthermore, twins seem to be depicted mostly (or only) as preteens up to their mid teens, in that order.
Any TV shows with twins in their 20s , 30s or even in elderly twins?
I guess it is because children who are twins are considered "cute."

I realize that it's animation, but I think Patty and Selma from The Simpsons are in their 40's. And there ain't nothing cute about Patty and Selma!

If soap operas count, I know "Days of Our Lives" had Marlena Evans and Samantha Evans. They were played by real-life twins Deidre Hall and Andrea Hall born in 1947.

Well it is a matter of opinion. that is why I use terminology such as "It is considered
to be cute"

However thanks for poining out that there have been twins on TV past their teens even if it was only cartoon characters.

The Todd Triplets appeared on My Three Sons, playing the triplet sons of Katie & Rob Douglas (late '60s to 1972).

Concerning adults:
The Lawrence Welk Show featured the male identical Otwell Twins (Roger & David), from the late 1970s until the end of the original broadcast run (1982).
