Default What is ONE question (and answer) that could help solve a UM case?

If a genie popped out of a bottle and told you that you could ask ONE question about a UM case, besides the "main" question of who killed ___ or what happened to ___, what would you ask to help solve a mystery?

I can think of one burning question I have about the Katherine Korzilius case: was young Katherine ever known to have jumped on her mom's car before? (Or: Did her brother/kids down the street/etc. ever jump on parent's cars...i.e., would Katherine have seen someone else doing this and tried to imitate it?)

If the answer is yes, the "fell off her mom's car" theory is actually plausible. If no, it becomes (in my opinion) extremely far-fetched that she would just think of this out of the blue and attempt it.

What is one question you would ask about a UM case?

Agree 100%.

Here are some of my questions:

1) Tammy Lynn Leppert: Hard to pick one, but WHAT EXACTLY where the circumstances of her going out of town unchaperoned? (kind of a cheat since that includes WHO was at this party, WHERE the party was, and IF Tammy was known to be alone at a certain time away from it)

2) Danny Casalaro: What exactly was in that briefcase?

3) Lulu Corshaine: Who was in the shower early in the morning at her apartment (overheard by the daughter). My bet is Roger Healey.

4) Nyleen Kay Marshall: Were the letters/phone calls a hoax?

5) Jeremy Bright: What are the exact origins of the rumors about Jeremy's death?

6) Kurt McFall: Was anyone with him when he was on the cliff?

7) Su Ya Kim: Does the Vietnamese exchange student know more than she's telling? (I really wonder if a boyfriend, etc. could have been driving her car and was spotted by Joe Jones.)

8) The Freedon: Was Florian actually a good guy, or did he have sinister intentions?

9)Elizabeth Campbell: How did her purse end up so far away?

10) Tara Breckenridge: Why did she leave her mace in the car?

11) Amy Billig: Where exactly was Henry Blair/Hank when Amy vanished?

12) Michael Rosenblum: What were the circumstances of him leaving his girlfriend's car?

13) Jay Given: Where exactly was John Cordona when the shot was fired? (This might be cheating )

14) Where was Stephen Marfeo during his unusually long lunch break the day of his wife's disappearance?

15) Why the extreme cleaning of Paul Pollis' house? (The answer better not be because he likes it :P)

I had the exact same question about Kurt McFall...good one!

Great choice for the Amy Billig case! That answer would certainly help the investigation tremendously.

My one burning question about the Tammy Leppert case would be: was her male friend telling the truth when he said he dropped Tammy off near the bank?

Seems like knowing the answer to that one would have helped investigators quite a bit...I still think about this case so often and wonder if her guy friend's story was the truth or not.

I strongly believe hard evidence is the biggest factor that would solve any such case on UM.

1) Dale Kerstetter: Where/what happened to Dale's .22 pistol during/after this whole situation?
2) Tara Calico: where did her bicycle end up?
3) Chad Langford: what distance was he shot at? Surely an autopsy would've been able to determine if he had been shot at point-blank range or further.
4) Matthew Chase: did the bandana found in his car belong to his abductor or co-conspirator?
5) Mark Groezinger: was the murder weapon the same gun Judy purchased earlier or was it another gun of similar caliber that was used?
6) Dwayne McCorkendale: was his murder part of a crime spree by a couple of reckless motorists?
7) Bobby Oberholzer/Annette Schnee: were they the victims of a serial killer?
8) Friar Rivera/Kerrigan: what happened to his last rites kit? Where was Kerrigan's body dumped?
9) Phillip Fraser: where and when were Phillip's belongings dumped, i.e. before/after meeting the Olson, a dumpster, out in the wilderness?
10) Patsy Wright: where did the strychnine originate from?

I firmly believe Kerrigan's body was weighed down and dumped in Flathead Lake, which is close in proximity to Ronan. If they took a boat out far enough, that is one deep ass lake. They'd never find him.

Who exactly was it who called claiming that Judy Himes who'd disappeared in Florida decades earlier with her bloodstained car turning up in Atlanta was 'alive and living in Omaha' and why did this person target some visiting police officer who'd had no previous knowledge of the case? What did this person hope to accomplish?

Yeah I always wondered about that as well. I thought maybe it was a prank or crank call, but it's gotta be the strangest prank ever, bringing up a case that had long gone cold and that only Judy's friends and family would remember/care about.

Excellent theory and wouldn't surprise me at all. I'm also pretty convinced his dicey past contributed to whatever happened to him and why he was carrying a huge amount of cash.

1. Wow what a thread. Not a question
2. Patsy wright...did her brother in law/sister know something more?
3. Orange sock murders. Did they know the person? According the husband Bobby wouldn't take a ride with a stranger. Was she drunk? This is a mystery I hope to see solved!

4. Does Dennis rodman know who had that boat on lake lewisville?

5. Not so much an UM original but did Elvis really die of drug overdose? Did Kurt cobain die alone of a broken heart? I guess this really isn't a question that would help solve a case lol.

6. Did the person who shot carol know her?

7. Were the guys in the Devils backbone episode drinking too much Devils backbone?

8. Did the bass player go off the boat with Amy Bradley or did she fall overboard?

9. Did the IH 70 killer work at a dept store and did he actually kill people in Texas?

10. Was the Ohio interstate killer one person?

11. What nfl team did the guy in the 49er hugs episode cheer for. Or was that just a bogus theory?

Tim McClure: Did phone records ever verify whether he called to cancel his mother's credit card before or after she went missing? I don't know how thoroughly phone records were kept in back in 1983, but it seems to me there should have been hard evidence to show when that call took place, other than a date written down on the employee's memo.

The Mary Morris 911 call that has never been released (presuming we can still discuss the case here).

The Circleville Letters...so many unanswered questions, especially regarding Mary Gillespie and her husband's mysterious death. And I had no idea that Paul Freshour passed away.
