Default Top 5 "DAYS" characters...ever

In 50 years "Days of our Lives" has introduced a lot of awesome characters but if you had to pick your ABSOLUTE TOP 5 FAVORITES, who would you pick?

My list may be very different from yours ... I've been watching on and off since 1995 and I've read many books and articles online about the show's past storylines.

1. Stefano DiMera: The most awesome villain in daytime history! I could listen to him talk all day long.

2. Sami Brady: the ultimate "daytime princess". I nicknamed her this since she doesn't quite fall into the "diva" category with the likes of Deidra Hall, Susan Lucci, or Lynn Herring.

3. Kristen DiMera: Eileen Davidson is one of daytime's most gifted actresses. I especially liked the Kristin/Susan Banks/Sister Mary Moira storyline from the mid '90s.

4. Kate Roberts: In my opinion, she's the diva of the show. Stunning fashion.

5. Alice Horton: the class this lady showed and the kindness she showed was beyond compare. I don't think there has ever been or will ever be another character like her on the show...Maggie comes close but she's no Mrs. H.

This list was extremely hard to make. There's SO many characters who could easily made this list. It was so hard to pick just my top 5.

Arrow

I too have been watching since 1995. The possession story line drew me in and 1995-1999 was when I was into it the most. Looking at my list, I have to say, I have a soft spot for the ladies of Days.

1. Marlena Evans - When she is in danger, things are getting good. The ultimate damsel in distress. I loved her penthouse and loved it when she actually got to do her job as a psychiatrist.

2. Kristin Blake DiMera - She was a good girl when I first started watching the series. But the DiMera curse overtook her, then things started getting good.

3. Celeste Perrault - Stefano's henchwoman and Lexie's mom. She was so intriguing, she was always captivating with her crazy wigs and hats. If she started having a bad feeling, premonition or dream, you knew something bad was about to happen.

4. Laura Spencer Horton - poor Laura, 18 years in a sanitarium. Head writer, James Reilly just loved having different people play mind games with her from Daniel Scott to Peter Blake to Stefano DiMera.

5. Vivian Alamain - she brought the ultimate over the top dialogue and delivery. She was classy but wasn't beyond getting down and dirty.

Runner up: Kate Roberts (the Lauren Koslow version) - it was always fun to watch her tangle with Vivian and Sami and she always did it with style.

If I did a runner-up, I'd pick Marlena Evans.

Weird. I've been watching on and off since 1995 too!

I also liked Renee Jones as Lexie Carter.

I agree about Lexie. Her death was one of the most heartbreaking moments in the show's history.

I'm trying to remember the name of a female character. She had a really cute face, red hair and was always smiling. She was married to an attractive doctor and they were schemers. I remember thinking it was cool they were paired together because she was a bit overweight and not the kind of woman you see on TV a lot.

Nancy Wesley. She was married to Craig and she is also Chloe Lane's mother. Nancy and Craig schemed to get Mike Horton removed from Chief of Staff at the hospital. Their weapon: crazy Ali McIntyre who became obsessed with Mike.

^Patrika Darbo is her real name. She's appeared in tons of stuff. I wish they'd bring her, Craig, and Chole back.

Nancy did come back briefly in 2013 for about a month but she didn't really have a storyline.

She didn't have a storyline. She just helped Chloe with Parker and she took him to Brazil.
I miss Nancy Wesley. She's fun.
Instead, we're stuck with duds like Ava Vatali and Edwardo Hernandez.

I'm not liking Eduardo very much but I do like Ava...but I'm confused about her, I thought she was a wanted fugitive for taking down the plane that killed Shawn (Caroline's husband).
