Default at what point did you realize Santa Claus wasnt real

for me it was at age 10 its actually kind of fun and interesting the lengths our parents go to at these holidays to make we sure we enjoy them when we're young at Christmas kids are suppose to believe a man in a red suit with flying deer brings them gifts. and at easter they're suppose to believe a giant rabbit brings them eggs and chocolate

At age 3. My great-grandma felt it was wrong for children to believe in things that aren't real.

On Christmas Eve my dad always dressed as Santa Claus and handed out our gifts. Well, (I remember this vividly!) I think I was about 3 or 4 years old and I noticed that Santa was wearing my dad's boots and I announced that! Everyone laughed but I can't remember if that tipped me off or not! But that probably gave me a hint!

Darn it Opus!!! I was about to post the same thing you posted when I saw this thread!

But really I was pretty old! I held onto it as long as I could!! I didn't want to believe there wasn't a Santa. I was the baby of the family, and my older siblings never spilled the beans but an older neighbor kid had said Santa wasn't real, and I refused to believe him!!

I was the same way with my kids, I kept the Santa thing going as long as I could! I think they knew already and pretended to still believe to humor me!

I think I was 10 years old as well. I wasn't that upset unlike many other kids who'd not believe that Santa wasn't real.

But if I had a family, I'd rather have my children know about Santa and once the oldest child hits 10...I'll tell them the REAL story of Santa Claus, who's name is actually St. Nicholas of Myra in modern-day Turkey. St. Nicholas helped the poor by giving the children gold as they slept...hence why the legend became Santa Claus.

I was going to post about the true SANTA CLAUS and how his spirit still lives on today (But, you beat me to it)!!

If Santa Claus doesn't exist, then there sure are a lot of imposters running around claiming to be him or that they are his helpers!

I even saw one at my granddaughter's school Christmas program today!

Santa still comes to my house on Christmas Eve because there are still "presents" that say they are from "Santa"-- (but, I still haven't caught him or seen him yet, he sure is fast for a big guy and he doesn't miss any cookies left out for him either)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Even with grown kids no longer living here, every Christmas eve before we go to bed I still put out a glass of milk and cookies for Santa!

Santa can't come to your place. He's too busy with this guy:

My older cousin David told me when I was 8. I think he should have kept it to himself though.
