I was watching some old episodes this morning, and had a big WTF moment. I noticed for the first time that her Son in Law is identified as Thomas Kidd.
Now, unless UM decided to alter names for some unmentioned reason (Like with Jeremy Bright's friend & sister), that would mean that Ethel's daughter married someone with the same last name!?! |

Huh. Interesting observation.
Could it be an error on the part of UM? I know that on the Marvin Gabrion/Rachel Timmerman segment, they screwed up the update and stated that Marvin had been arrested, but that the fate of "baby Rachel" had never been revealed. That wasn't the child's name. The baby was Shannon; her mother was Rachel. OR-- it could be a situation where the MALE took his wife's last name. I've actually seen this done before. Man has a bad history with his family, marries someone, and assumes his wife's last name as his own. It's rare, but it could happen. |

I'd say it was just an oversight by the U.M production crew.

I always thought the son-in-law looked as old as Ethel. But the ages of people featured on UM have thrown us way off before. For instance, someone posted the other day that Charles Morgan was only 39 when he was killed.
I don't know if she still lives there but Ethel's daughter ended up moving into her house after her murder, which always amazed me. Every time you pull in your driveway or walk in your front yard, you're going to be in the same spot your mother was abducted and be reminded of it. I couldn't put myself through that everyday if I was in her position. |
