"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" Hits Mother Lode, Casts Katey Sagal as Jake's Mom
by Michael Ausiello December 7, 2015 How’s this for some arresting stunt casting: "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" has tapped "Sons of Anarchy" vet Katey Sagal to play the MIA mother of Andy Samberg’s Jake, TVLine has learned exclusively. Sagal’s character, Karen Peralta, will turn up in an early ’16 episode that will also mark the return of Jake’s dad Roger, played by Bradley Whitford. Per B99 lore, Jake was 7 years-old when his dad left home, leaving Sagal’s Karen to raise him by herself. In other words, expect a tense family reunion.
