Biggrin New & Improved COLOR ANDY from b/w years

Fantastic News! CBS will be showing 2 COLORIZED!! episodes of the Andy Griffith Show on Christmas night! Enough to make you want to dance a jig! Yes, it's wonderful and it's true.

The "new special, airing at 8 p.m. Christmas Day, features two episodes back to back: "The Christmas Story" from 1960 and "The Pickle Story" from 1961."

"Each is newly colorized to match as closely as possible to later episodes of the series that were actually filmed and broadcast in color," CBS said in a release. "The main titles and end credits of the two episodes are seamlessly combined into one set at the beginning and end of the hour, with no interruption between the episodes."

Nodsmiley Get out the color popcorn It''s Colorizin' Time & I Love It!!

The b/w fuddy duddy's will always be around, but us progressive forward thinkers love to see Classic TV & Movies IN Full Beautiful COLOR, the way they were supposed to be seen. Now all we have to have is the ENTIRE Andy b/w years Colorized so everyone can enjoy each and every new colorized moment.

All God's flims and TV shows were meant to be seen in beautiful living color. Period, final, right guys? Ehh, who cares what you think, color is the way it should be and that's that .

Now let's PARTAAY it's colorizin' time!!

Even b/w snobs with their noses so high are allowed to watch if they can stop telling us what we should and shouldn't be watching. I likes what I likes and if the b/wers want to bang their heads against the wall telling me what I should and shouldn't watch, let 'em. More fun for me.

I've watched both of these eps recently, obviously in b & w -- in fact, MeTV just aired the 1960 Christmas episode tonight.

But you can bet that as an ardent fan of Elinor Donahue, I'll be glued to my TV screen to take in her presence in living color in "The Christmas Story." Let the drooling begin!

I agree that black and white shows should not be colorized. Black and white shows are meant to be seen in black and white. No exceptions. Period. Just like color shows are meant to be seen in color.

To me, colorizing black and white movies/TV shows is an act of ugly vandalism. It should be strictly prohibited and outlawed. There are plenty of color movies/TV shows to see. Leave the black and white stuff alone. If I want to see the Andy Griffith Show in color, I'll watch an episode from one of the later seasons when the show was filmed in color.

Nodsmiley Colorize it all, Then We Can All Be Truly Joyful!

My message to all concerned is:
KEEP THE COLORIZIN' COMIN'!!

I love every colorized movie and TV show I've ever seen.
There's only one problem we can all easily agree on, there just ain't enough colorized shows to enjoy.
Come on you colorizers, get on the ball, colorize the ENTIRE Andy Griffith b/w years and put it out on DVD and we're all going to be in Colorized Barney heaven.
And I include this wish for the entire complete series of I Love Lucy & The Honeymooners classic 39. These ALL also need and must be colorized at once and put out on DVD for everyone to love and revel in it's total Living Color beauty. Oh what a wonderful world it will be then.

Then everyone agrees, we all love colorization and no more b/w crap should ever be seen. Right? Right. Then the I's have it, let it be inscribed on a stone monument, "All b/w shows Must Be Seen from now on ONLY in Beautiful Colorized versions." Then that is out new motto, final period. No more petty disagreements from here forth. Right? Right.

Well, glad we have total unanimity here.

This is fine for a novelty and for the fact that a network is showing it. As for the colorization, to me it is unnecessary, but no big deal since the bw originals are readily available. The more recent colorized shows I have seen have much better color than what they did back in the 80s. That being said, whenever I watch any TAGS episodes from the last three seasons, I turn the color off

Agreed, Zoneboy. That's another thing about this colorizing garbage. It shouldn't be done at all in the first place. But when it IS done, the colors don't even look natural. It's computer generated, fake looking crap. There may have been some improvements in technology over the years, but regardless, anything that's colorized from black and white will always look fake. Unfortunately, there are individuals who like this crap and are willing to waste their time watching it. Not in MY house!
