Default Pilot in the works that recycles old sitcom scripts; L&S reunion to air in May

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Columbia TriStar Domestic Television is looking to harness the extensive library of popular TV shows in the Sony library to create a half-hour sketch comedy show that would recreate a single episode of a classic sitcom each week. The new show, entitled "Rerun" would air weekly on NBC. According to an NBC source, published reports of the network's intent to create a sketch comedy show around classic sitcoms such as "All in the Family," "Diff'rent Strokes," "Married... With Children," "The Partridge Family," "The Nanny" and "Dream of Jeanie" are correct. The show would use the original script from a well-known episode of a comedy show and re-create it line for line in a tongue-in-cheek manner with the goal of emphasizing any cultural or societal changes that had taken place since the episode originally aired. A pilot of "Rerun" is being developed for this fall, but it is possible that it could air sooner. The cast of the show includes Paul Vogt, Mitch Silpa, Don Reed, Daniele Gaither, Ashley Drane and Candy Ford.

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - ABC is jumping on the reunion-special bandwagon, bringing together the cast of "Laverne & Shirley" for a May sweeps event. Penny Marshall, Cindy Williams and the rest of the cast will reminisce about the show in "Entertainment Tonight Presents: Laverne & Shirley Together Again," scheduled to air at 8 p.m. ET Tuesday, May 7. Michael McKean (Lenny), David Lander (Squiggy), Eddie Mekka (Carmine) and Betty Garrett (Edna) are also slated to appear on the show. "Laverne & Shirley," a spinoff of "Happy Days," ran on ABC from 1976-83. It was the top-rated show in the Nielsens for two straight seasons -- 1977-78 and '78-79 -- and finished in the top 25 all but one year. Linda Bell Blue, executive producer of "ET," is also the executive producer of the special -- hence the "Entertainment Tonight Presents" in the show's title. Viewers tuning in to May sweeps may think they've hit a time warp. The "Laverne & Shirley" special will air a day after CBS runs a "Honeymooners" retrospective, and the Eye is also planning a special marking the 50th anniversary of its Television City complex in Los Angeles. NBC also has a number of looking-back events scheduled for May to celebrate its 75th anniversary, including an "L.A. Law" movie and a "Cosby Show" reunion.

I am sorry to beat you to the punch on that one.
As for posting things that aren't true...all of Wink's stories are 100% true. The world he lives in exists in a parallel universe is what some say. Others claim it's a from a fabric rip in time and what happens when you combine long term doses of pot, coke, booze and an endless string of cheap floozies.

Default check out the pitch meeting for this pilot

Hi, I managed to snag transcripts of the pitch meeting that sold this pilot for the Columbia TriStar Domestic Television half-hour sketch comedy show that would recreate a single episode of a classic sitcom each week and posted it on my site. Check it out. Here's a teaser...

Marketing flunkie: "We need a paradigm that impacts an audience from the word go. A concept that can be conveyed in a single sentence, a built in franchise that includes T-Shirts, Mugs, Video Games, features, theme park attractions and can be co-branded with Wal Mart and Pepsi." Suit1: "Now you are talking." Suit2: "Brilliant Sir."
