Glad you are in good spirits! You are an inspiration. I had asthma really bad as a kid and was hospitalized once for it. Not being able to breathe is one of the scariest feelings. Luckily, I 'outgrew' it as an adult and am symptom-free today.

I now work in a hospital so I see patients all day.

3 years ago, I was in the hospital for a small stroke; I was there for 3 days then I was transferred to a rehab hospital for a month, then a nursing home/rehab facility for two months. then a year later I went back in for a urinary tract infection; that time it was only for 4 days. Then a week after I got out I had to go back because I was having a reaction to the medicine they put me on but that was only for a few hours.

Yes, I have.
I have had a number of eye surgeries over the years.
In addition to those I've had:
Tubes put in my ears in March 1981 (age 2)
Hospitalized with pneumonia at age 2
Had my Adnoids taken out at age 5
Had my tonsils taken out in December 2002
Hospitalized in March 2006 for dehydration
Had my Gal bladder removed in August 2010. I was in the hospital for 5 days.

I posted about this briefly in a thread upon returning home from the hospital. In early February of 2014 I was diagnosed with a sinus infection by my family doctor. Even after listening to my lungs, he prescribed me with antibiotics and sent me on my way.

Four days later I had excruciating pain in my back and chest, and went to the ER. I left the hospital 20 days later. I had an insane case of pneumonia that did not respond well to antibiotics. I had one procedure to drain the fluid around my lung, which did not help. I then had two surgeries, the second one being a thoracotomy, which was incredibly horrific. I was left with a scar that looks like I survived a shark attack.

It sounds like you've had more than your share of hospital visits Tubehead. Hope you are doing okay and won't have to go to the hospital for a good long time.

My last hospital stay was when my son was born so that was over 20 years ago. Hope I don't have to go for at least another 20 years. I stayed with my dad & sister when they were in the hospital fighting cancer and both lost the battle. I'd rather just avoid the hospital if possible.

I haven't been admitted to the hospital since Junior High but I went through enough then. I have asthma. It seemed like every week I was going to the ER. Missed my 7th grade final exams because I was having asthma problems. I finally took them during the summer. Then in 9th grade I was admitted to the hospital for a full week because of it. When I was 3 I was admitted to the hospital and almost died. I couldn't keep any solid food down.

My first surgery I had when I was three years old when I spent my third year in California and it was on my eyes and that was the reason I wore glasses. Then when I was seven I had hip surgery and my Mom thought the surgery would help me walk but the worst part was sleeping with a wedged sponge pillow and it hurt to turn over in my bed. Then when I was twelve I had my hip operated again because of an accident at school and it was pretty painful and today I still get leg aches on that hip. Then I had gallbladder surgery and it was scary for me but I made it through the hard recovery

I had, but not in a really long time.

Last time I even went was when being little.

I think we all should pay more attention to our back muscles. http://www.kingofthegym.com/back-anatomy/

I spent a week in the hospital after I was born due to having jaundice and also the fact that I was born a month early.

When I was eleven I spent a couple of hours in an emergency room having an earring removed from my earlobe (the earring got lodged inside).

Another time, also when I was a child, I spent time in the emergency room having a terrible case of the stomach flu and could not stop from throwing up.

Other than that *knock on wood* I have been healthy and haven't had any hospital stays or surgeries.

I've had 3 operations on my vocal chords to help my speech and last summer I had a miner operation where they gave me a super-pubic catheter. That's where they make an incision on your belly, insert a tube connected to a catheter and put in into your bladder.

No long term hospital stays, but I was taken to the emergency room for a kidney stone attack. Had to have an IV inserted so I could stop throwing up and to get pain relief. Spent the entire day there with my parents.
