The cover has the same design as the Peanuts movies that Paramount also released on DVD earlier this year.

My set arrived yesterday. Red plastic case which is a tad flimsy. 22 episodes over 3 disks. Subtitled, even the songs are subtitled so you can sing along though the theme tune isn't. The current CBS home release logo appears during the closing credits so something was cut there. The episode titles are listed on each disk which is a great help. All dvd companies should do this so you do not have to look at a separate episode guide however, because of the style of the cover the episode titles are not that easy to read.
Disk three on the disk says 'special features' but I could not see any on the disk itself at first glance. I have yet to check disk two. I watched the first episode last night. A very strange show. Animation isn't the best and it does sound disjointed. I remember Barry Williams saying they recorded their lines into a tape recorder in their dressing rooms so they never really knew in what context they were saying the lines. Hopefully a release of The Brady Brides and The Bradys will follow. |

I have now watched the first disk. Here is a run down of the episodes and the songs the kids sing on each episode. They are subtitled so you can sing along.

Disk Three
The Richest Man in the World - Keep On Wings - Gonna Find a Rainbow The final five episodes are the ones with the new voice cast replacing Barry, Maureen and Chris. The first and last episodes of these five have new opening and closing animation taking out the live action shots of Barry, Maureen, Chris and all the other kids still working on the animated show. The songs in the final five episodes have also appeared in other season one shows. The middle three episodes feature the original opening and closing credits which could be a mistake on the dvd or perhaps they aired that way. They also list Barry, Maureen and Chris as part of the cast despite them only being on the animated opening song and the songs the kids sing in the episodes themselves. The final three episodes allow you to watch a trailer for the episode you are about to watch but the narration suggests they would have appeared at the end of the preceeding weeks episode as they say something about looking at what you will see next week. Frankincense - We'll Always Be Friends (repeat) Teacher's Pet - Drummer Man (repeat) Marcia's Lib - I Believe In You (repeat) Ceiling Zero - Love My Life Away (repeat) Who Believes in Ghosts? - Ain't It Crazy (repeat) |
