I wash certain things like towels, sheets, undies or things I want softer like jeans, or stiff cotton clothes.

I do too. Especially towels and sheets as they are treated with a scotch guard type thing to repel dirt and dust. If towels especially aren't washed first they will not absorb well. And also putting towels in the dryer gets all excess lint off. As for clothing, I usually wash t shirts and jeans before wearing them. They too are treated. |

Yes, I do. I have sensitive skin. I wash clothes, sheets, towels etc. I know clothes have dye in them. After they have been washed once I can wear the clothes and use the towels and sheets.

Sometimes. Usually underwear, that is drawers, are in a plastic bag so I figure they are clean. As for every Tina, Dora and Harriet trying the clothes on before me, I take my chances I'm not going to get a rash. How do I know they have tried the clothes for I do usually find the shirt buttoned up on the rack. On the other hand, with pants, I have to hem them up for the legs are long. I do find after I hem them, I wash them and sometimes I think they might have shrunk. I don't want my pants to hang too low or be too high water looking either. So for shrinkage, I should wash first. I tend to think dyes of the past aren't a problem like they used to be. But I will let you know if I get a rash..

Yes, everything. Unless it's dry clean only.
