Thumbs down The Hallmark Channel's "Countdown to Christmas"

The Hallmark Channel's "Countdown to Christmas" starts October 31. Am I the only person that loathes this tradition? I don't like it because the original movies tend to be super lame ("Fir Crazy" - seriously?) and they remove all their other programs off the schedule.

The only shows I watch on Hallmark Channel are "The Waltons" and "Little House on the Prairie," but still....playing Christmas movies for almost 2 months is a bit much, don't you think? Ba humbug!

Hallmark Mysteries & Movies has Murder, She Wrote on hiatus until January so they can air these lame movies. I'm not a happy camper.

Oh No

I don't have cable (still holding that grudge against them) but Hallmark might as well play that Marlo Thomas version of It's a Wonderful Life!

I might be the only one, but I like the Hallmark movies. It's nice to see they are showing Christmas movies. Not everyone is into watching all the Halloween movies.

It would be nice if they could keep some of there regular programming in addition to airing the Christmas movies.

At least it's not one more channel that is airing all Halloween stuff.

Last night I saw that Hallmark was airing some movie called A Boyfriend For Christmas. I had to stop to think how much money someone would have to pay me to get me to watch it. The figure that I came up with was $500. No, I'm not kidding.

Based on the title alone I think you're being too generous.

Bad enough that it's on the Hallmark channel! Extending it to the Movies & Mysteries channel?! Even worse!

I agree! Too early! It's like they rushed and made these movies in a couple of days.

My favorite Hallmark Christmas movie is "A Season For Miracles"(1999) It was a Hallmark Hall Of Fame presentation. It had a stellar cast . Carla Gugino, Mae Whitman, Laura Dern, Patty Duke, Lynn Redgrave, Kathy Baker, Faith Prince and David Conrad.

These rush jobs that Hallmark is churning out don't measure up at all! As someone said; LAME!

If you haven't seen "A Season For Miracles" I highly recommend it!

I don't know what's worse, these Christmas movies or the ridiculous mystery movies such as Murder She Baked (A Chocolate Chip Cookie Mystery) & Garage Sale Mystery. Alison Sweeney and Lori Loughlin must be desperate for money.

Oh yes, the Hallmark Hall of Fame Movies are wonderful. I've seen "A Season For Miracles" several times. I also like "The Magic of Ordinary Days" and "The Sarah, Plain and Tall" Collection too. But, these Hallmark Channel TV movies are awful. I'm glad some people find joy in them, but I do not. I guess I'll have to invest in "Little House" DVDs.

My mom is 81 and the Hallmark Channel is her favorite and Christmas is her favorite holiday, so right now she is loving it.
