Very sad. You'd think by 65 he'd get his act together(no pun intended). He's a real lost soul.

What happened to him? He was doing so good for a long time and then wham! He starts spiraling down again.

After that girl was trampled to death at his concert in britain years ago, the guilt drove him over the edge. Add to the fact that his father burned to death in a fire, he just gave up and nobody wanted him. Then his wife comes along and straightens him out and now he is back to rock bottom. He's turning into another Jack Cassidy. Danny Bonaduce is getting in less trouble then David.

Jack Cassidy was never arrested and was sitting at home when he died. His alcohol level was not that high either . It was .11 when past out drunk is .20. Jack was only diagnosed with bipolar a couple years before he died. Back then there was not a lot of medications or treatment. Jack was also the president of his own production company. I do not know where you get your information from.

Nowhere in Flying Dutchman's post does he state that Jack Cassidy was ever arrested and he was not sitting at home when he died. He came home drunk, lit a cigarette and fell asleep on his sofa and died in the fire that ignited after he dropped it. Also, you're considered legally drunk if your BAC is .08. I don't know where you get your info from but you might want to recheck your sources.

Legal for driving was .10 at the time and that was for driving. Not sitting at home on your couch. I looked over the documents. The poster was talking about David heading down the same road. Sorry but there is no comparison. No arrest record. No lashing out at fans. I do not know where people get their info.

David is now worse than Bonaduce.....remember when Cassidy would goof on Danny for going in and out of jail when they did a song together at one of David's concerts years ago. Now the tables have turned!!

It seems the original comment was not saying that David Cassidy was , or is , doing the exact same things that his dad did in the exact same way and that their known alcohol consumption shows that it was, or is , or came-to-be , the same with the son as with the father, just that in general the son is, or seems to be, taking after his dad's nuerotic and self destructive ways including alcohol consumption to the point of getting dangerously intoxicated

It seems that something genetic may be involved. Jack Cassidy died in his 40s ,(or approximately). David lived much longer and did not seem to develop the mental illness or depression in his 40s but it began to take hold in his 60s.

BTW , a bit off topic, but I recently read that Shirley Jones was born in 1934 . Since David Cassidy was born in 1950 (as far as I know) doesnt it mean that Shirley Jones is only 16 years older than her stepson David? (I am terrible at math).
Also since Jack Cassidy died and Shirley re-married , wouldn't it be that she is officially the "Former step mother" of David Cassidy?

I'm not so sure if David is worse overall than Bonaduce yet, but he seems to be getting there fast.
Bonaduce reportedly tried to kill himself on a reality TV show.
Shirly Jones has stated that Bonaduce started smoking at the age of 11. When The Partridge Family was cancelled Bonadice was in his early teens and could not find acting work except in a few commercials (anyone remember the commercial he did for Goodrich tires?) and by the time he was in his 20s (or approximately) he was homeless living in a car. He also got into physical fights and attacked people .

I heard that David tried to help him by hiring him to be his opening act (as a comedian).
Maybe too much of Danny rubbed off on David.

Well I hope things turn around for both if them, but IMO, David is much less belligerent. Two lost souls, what a shame.
