Candis Cayne Guests on "The Young and the Restless"
by Emily Strohm 10/28/15 Candis Cayne is already a successful actress, but now the transgender advocate is adding soap star to her résumé. PEOPLE can exclusive reveal that Cayne will guest-star as Nona Richards, a wedding planner on an episode of "The Young and the Restless" set to air Dec. 2. "I am incredibly excited to join The Young and the Restless family!" Cayne tells PEOPLE. "Everyone, from the casting team to the producers and network executives, have been so welcoming and gracious." "I look forward to working with the wonderful cast and crew, and I hope the viewers enjoy my character." And just a day before announcing the news of her latest role, the actress helped close friend Caitlyn Jenner mark a major milestone as Jenner celebrated her first birthday living publicly as woman. "I've been at this for 20 years, you know what I mean? And when I first started there was no conversation at all," says Cayne, 44. "We were a back-alley conversation or a Jerry Springer conversation. Caitlyn has changed it in the fact that everyone in the world knows her name and knows that she is transgender.
