Who are your favorite characters that are just so warm, welcoming, and inviting? Characters that hardly ever have a bad thing to say and that would always be there to defend or help you out.
Here are a few I love: Kate Bradley (Petticoat Junction) Edith Bunker (All in the Family) Hazel Burke (Hazel) Naomi Harper (Mama's Family) Elly May Clampett (The Beverly Hillbillies) Edna Garrett ( The Facts of Life) Jack Tripper (Three's Company) George Feeny (Boy Meets World) Jessica Fletcher (Murder, She Wrote) (If only you weren't the one to be murdered when she visits. LOL) |

The character who immediately comes to mind when I think warm and inviting is Mrs. Wilson from Dennis the Menace. Sylvia Field seems like the sweetest person. She reminds me of my grandmother.

Jeannie-I Dream of Jeannie, I don't think she had a mean bone in her body.
Steve Urkel-Family Matters, he was always there when you needed him and he saved Carl's life once. Yes he was annoying but he had a heart of gold. Daphne Moon Crane- Frasier, I know a lot of people didn't much care for her in later seasons but I always liked her. I thought she was funny and she's the kind of friend you could count on. She and Roz were very different but they became really good friends and even Martin and Frasier loved having her around. Niles fell in love with her at first sight. Rose Nylund-The Golden Girls, She was the sweet and naive one on the show. It wasn't in her heart to be mean to anyone and anytime she tried she felt bad afterwards. She may not of been the sharpest tool in the shed but she had the biggest heart. Marlena Evans Black-Days of our Lives, Marlena is my favorite character on the show. She's so caring and forgiving and willing to give people the benefit of the doubt. She became a psychiatrist because she loves helping people. She sacrificed her own happiness for years to be with man she loved because he was with someone else. But all of her years of waiting paid off because she got her man in the end. The only way Marlena could hurt anyone was when she possessed. She is one of the biggest daytime heroines in soaps. |
