One a bunch of occasions, I have written about the fact that my favorite episode of the whole series is "Katie Steals Julie's Jock". The main thing about this episode that I fell in love with was the site of Julie in her designer boots! Julie in her boots really made my thirteen-year-old eyes pop out of my head! Ever since then I have had a very big crush on the character of Julie. This episode also caused me to develop a weakness for babes in boots. No other female that I have ever seen in boots has ever surpassed or even equaled the way that Julie looked in hers in my opinion. However, there have been a bunch of chicks that have come pretty close. Characters from "Facts of Life" and "Will and Grace" both fall under the category of babes that I think look almost as good in their boots as Julie looks in hers. Well, a couple of nights ago, I was flipping through the channels and came upon an episode of "Friends". This particular episode was made in 2000. In this episode, the character of Monica wore an outfit that included a leather skirt and a pair of black dress boots. Boy was she hot! I would say that Monica in this episode is one more lady who looked almost as good in her attire as Julie looked in the cloths that she wore in "Katie Steals Julie's Jock".

It's harmless. In fact,this is probably going to be me on the One Day at a Time boards in about 4 months.

I happened to be reading over this thread and saw that you had edited out the phrase, "however, Bonnie Franklin might stop in every once in a while". Or something to that effect. I would be very interested in learning whether there is some sort of story behind that.

There were inside jokes there that I decided didn't work, so I took them out. Seriously, not important. You're profile says you're in Jersey. Do you get PIX11, with the 3am GIMMMEs? Do you watch or record them?

In the first place, yes I do get PIX11. On occasion, I will happen to be up at that hour and will watch that morning's episode. However, because I have the whole series on DVD, it does not really matter if I get to see it or not.

Smartboy, Opus means because he has a crush on Barbara on One day at a time, and if nobody else was posting there with him!

But we still are!!! And I have a crush On Ponch from CHIPs and find myself posting and not really getting much response!!!

So Opus was joking with you that it's OK to have a crush on Julie from Gimme a Break, cause that could be him one day posting alone about Barbara!

If you have read the first post on this thread, you know that it is about an episode of "Friends" that I enjoyed almost as much as I enjoyed the "Gimme a Break!" episode "Katie Steals Julie's Jock". The fact that watching this "Friends" episode was almost as enjoyable an experience as the "Gimme a Break!" episode is because the character of Monica looked almost as good in her boots as Julie looked in hers. Unfortunately, the only way that I can think of to explain it is to write two more paragraphs! Please bare with me!

In the first season episode "Your Prisoner is Dead" we have Katie coming home from the store empty handed. This is because the handsome boy who was working there distracted her mind from all of the items that she was asked to pick up. These items included a bottle of creams rinse for Julie's hair and a pair of pantyhose for Nell. Julie was very angry at Katie and lashed out at her with "it is just like you Katie to put her own personal lust ahead of Nell's pantyhose"! Hearing a cutie pie like Julie use pantyhose in her sarcasm really activated my thirteen-year-old hormones!

Now we finally come to the "Friends" episode that I recently saw. In this episode the character of Phoebe was meeting her boyfriend's Mike's parents for the first time. For those of you who do not watch this show, Phoebe is played by Lisa Kudrow. Lisa Kudrow is one of a bunch of actresses who does almost as good a job of making me drool as does Lauri Henlder who played Julie on "Gimme a Break!". In any event, Mike's parents were very rich, very fancy and lived in a big mansion. When Phoebe showed up at the door, she was dressed in a beautiful outfit. Mike was sure to tell her how beautiful she was. At a loss for how to respond she said "I'm wearing pantyhose"! Hearing a sweetie pie like Phoebe talk about pantyhose two days ago was almost as lovely an experience as hearing Julie talk about pantyhose upwards of thirty years ago!

When I first started this thread, it was October of last year. Where I live in New Jersey, this is about the beginning of the season in which we start to see real life babes in the type of boots that Julie wore. Like I stated when I first started this thread, the time that I really thought that Julie outdid herself while wearing boots was in "Katie Steals Julie's Jock". This episode was made towards the end of November of 1982. This is the heart of boot-wearing season. Given that we are now in the middle of summer, it will be a while before anyone where I live or where "Gimme a Break!" took place will be wearing boots. Unless they are hiking boots, or perhaps the types of boots that farmers wear. However, I have decided to bring this thread to the top of this page thinking that people might want to daydream about Julie (and Monica) in their boots off-season! In my day, I have known a lot of people who have traveled to places in the mountains, the countryside and the seashore off-season. This being the case, I thought it might be fun to bring an off-season thread to the top of the page! After submitting this, I plan on starting a new thread that has to do with doing something else off-season. Be back in a minute!

Last night, I started a thread called "Her Legacy Lives On". In this thread, I mentioned shows that I have watched on Familynet. I think that syndicated episodes of "Gimme a Break!" would be a very good thing to have on this station. I am not sure, but I think they may have experimented with showing them once upon a time. In any event, from six to seven o'clock tonight, I watched two episodes of "The Facts of Life" on this channel. At the beginning of the second episode, the character of Blair was wearing a long skirt with a beautiful pair of black leather boots! I thought she was adorable! Just one more example of a babe who did almost as good a job of making me salivate as Julie did in "Katie Steals Julie's Jock"!

Poor Ponch!!!

Somewhere down the line I dumped him for Max Horvath from ODAAT!!!

I still love Ponch/Erik though don't get me wrong!

But Max/Michael has captured my heart big time lately!!
