Default JJ was not as cute as they made him out...

I remember watching Good Times and he was always portrayed as a player and popular among the girls on Good Times. He had many girlfriends and I never understood why? In my opinion he was tall, dark and UGLY. He looked homely, needy with nappy hair. And his character was annoying.. They should have made him more civilized. His character was the only childish one on the show.

I think he was a lot of fun and had a great personality!!! No he really wasn't good looking at all, but he had a nice smile and a cool personality I thought!! Seems like he was a gentleman too and would make a girl feel comfortable!

Sure, JJ was goofy, but he was very kind and he was extremely talented. That's probably why he had a lot of girlfriends.

J.J did mature in the later seasons. In the later seasons, he was snarky, sarcastic, and deadpan. His "That pussycat sure leads a troubled life," to Penny's presumed lying of a fictional cat, is a prime example of how dry and witty his later persona was. He no longer was the hyperactive simpleton he was in most of Seasons 1-3.

I think that was part of the joke of J.J.

And you could tell that Walker was exaggerating his "unique" physical appearance, the crazy flapping lips, the beady stoned looking eyes, the scrawny toothpick body... all the while in his head he was "Zoolander" or somebody.

Must have been some physical attribute that we viewers never were shown.
