The Notebook director Nick Cassavetes has been tapped to write and helm Road House, MGM’s remake of the 1980s film that is being fashioned as an vehicle for MMA champion Ronda Rousey.

The 1989 original starred Patrick Swayze as a New York City bouncer who takes over security at a small rural bar. But stitches pile up when the bar becomes the target of a corrupt businessman.

Joel Silver produced the original, which was directed by Rowdy Herrington.

I'll check it out because I love Ronda Rousey and I want her. I bet it'll be straight to video LOL. I loved the original with Patrick Swayze and Kelly Lynch. RIP Patrick. Patrick's Point Break is also being remade but i'll pass.
