Default King of Queens Inconsistencies

I notice quite a few inconsistencies on King of Queens sometimes. Just a few for example:

1. What ever happened to that dog Stanley that Doug and Carrie took from the Sacksey's? Stanley was in a few later episodes, but then he just disappeared and he was never mentioned again.

2. Doug didn't meet Deacon until he started working at IPS, yet there are a couple of episodes where Carrie mentions that she went to high school with Deacon's wife Kelly. What's up with that?

Can anyone else name a few inconsistencies?

Carrie had a sister in the first season early eps.,than she never was seen or heard about again. And it was made to seem like Carrie was an only child after that!

In the early seasons Doug and Carrie knew each other from school (or maybe Junior High?). Then later we see Doug and Carrie met at the nightclub where Doug was bouncing.

In an early episode Doug has a high school football reunion at this house, including the coach. But in the ep where Burt Reynolds plays his old coach, Burt acts like he hasn't seen Doug since high school.

Yep, the vanishing-sibling. Funny thing is they then gave Doug a sister in the 3rd season, who we never heard of before, then she's gone after that. Though Doug did mention having the sis in later seasons.

Ohhhh, and Doug's car. Before he got the new SUV, Doug had the brown station wagon that he ends up selling to Spence. It's made to sound like Doug's had the car since high school, yet in flashbacks Doug is driving a little convertible.

I always wondered why they have two types of kitchen chairs at the same table?

I think that's just a style. I've seen real houses with that.

^^^ When did that happen???

Another inconsistency: Firefighter pal Richie just vanishes with no mention of him ever again.

Richie was a fun character. I loved when he called Doug Moose. He went onto another sitcom that didn't last.

Wow, that is actually pretty cool. I never saw that in a real house! I'd go for that, but my hubby would probably object, he would think it's weird. Traditional old goat that he is!!!

The writers could have at least written off Richie's character by saying that he moved away or something. Richie was a character that people cared about.... not like Carrie's sister.

Sorry, I never cared for Richie and didn't miss him after he was gone.

The thing I've heard about Carrie's sister is she was on the first two episodes and the writers didn't really know what to do with her so the character was just dropped and Carrie became an only child.

And what about Holly? She was on for a few seasons and then she just disappeared too. Was there ever an explanation given as to what happened to her and maybe I missed it? I thought she was very funny.

Ed.

I hate when there are holes in the plot like that. The writers think we're stupid, I guess.

Another inconsistency that's been well-documented on other websites:

Exterior long shots of the front of the house don't show much of a front porch at all, yet there are some episodes where a full front porch is in use --or at least shown. I think there have also been inconsistencies regarding the lower windows (for Arthur's use, or lack of them).
