ficlopri Member Forum Regular Join Date: Jun 27, 2001 Location: Methuen, Ma.USA Posts: 659	Bob Denver sitcom that inspired Star Wars In 1975 Bob Denver starred in a Saturday Morning show (made by Sid and Marty Kroft) called Far Out Space Nuts. With him in that show was actor Chuck McCann. McCann later stated that George Lucas came and visited the set of FOSN and took ideas from the show and put them into his megahit Star Wars film in 1977! One idea taken from FOSN is a frosty white creature that looks almost just like Chewbacca. And a character who wields what looks like a light sabre. These two characers can be seen in he FOSN's opening credits. THE FOSN series is available on videotape and you can read more about what McCann has to say on the subject matter of Lucas getting ideaS from the set of FOSN in the book Pufnstuf and Other Stuff (available at Amazon.com).
