First off I want to say that I absolutely love "Designing Women".
Would anyone else agree with me that Dixie Carter and Delta Burke are two of the biggest gay icons EVER? Julia's (Dixie's) terminator speeches are very quote worthy and inspirational. The fashion of both ladies were spot-on. Very classy yet sassy. They always seem to be witty and fearless---two things that gay men always look for in an icon. |

Hmm, I'm not sure about "ever" because when I hear "gay icons" I think of divas like Barbra Streisand, and Cher, and Bette Midler.
But, I would at least say that for TV, Dixie and Delta were two of the biggest gay icons (just behind Bea Arthur), and that the show itself was one of the biggest gay icon series on television ever. |
