"Modern Family" as an Animated Show? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

According to IMDB, the creators of Modern Family, at one point, discussed having Modern Family be an animated show because they were concerned that it wasn't going to appeal to children.

What does anyone think of the idea of Modern Family being an animated show rather than a live-action show? How would things have played out then? What would the possibilities be, if any?

One possibility of Modern Family being animated is the voice cast would all be adults. For example, one member of the voice cast would portray two (or more) members of the Pritchett/Tucker/Dunphy family. Also, Luke and Manny would be voiced by females. (Well, I'd have Luke be voiced by a female until the third or fourth year of the show, even though characters typically do not age in animated shows over time.)
