Talking Past Or Present, which of the big 4 networks have the best sitcoms?

Let's see here:

Fox- nothing much I like here except, The Simpson's and Married With Children

Abc- a few like Happy Days And Laverne And Shirley

Nbc- Had lots of good ones like: Cheers, The Golden Girls, Frasier, Seinfeld, The Cosby Show, Wings,Mad about You. (This Network ruled the 90s)

CBS- Again, lots of goodies. They gave us: I Love Lucy, Mash,The Beverly Hillbillies,The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Andy Griffith Show ,And many more!

Between only NBC and CBS, I'll go with NBC. It generally had better sitcoms. Now if I were talking about All types of tv shows, CBS would have gotten my vote. But to me, NBC seemed to have a lot of good quality sitcoms. (Except for Friends) .

In the past ALL of them offered some great sitcoms but these days I don't like anything they offer.

I think it depends on how far back you want to go. For me, I look at it this way:

1950s/1960s - CBS

1970s - ABC

1980s/1990s - NBC

Since then....nothing!!

NBC-They had the best sitcoms in the 80's and 90's! I even wrote an article about it on how Brandon Tartikoff made NBC show more colors than it previously did!

ABC-They had the best sitcoms in the 90's because of TGIF, but it was when TGIF was family oriented...in 1997, it became teen oriented. It's saving grace by then was the sitcoms for older people!

CBS-They had the best sitcoms in the 50's, 60's, and 70's! I wasn't around those decades, I seem to have been born in the wrong decade...sometimes...the 80's and 90's CBS sitcoms were sporadic. Now they're into the four 1-D characters and an ******* concept! NOT Funny!

FOX-This one is difficult since they rely on Animation Domination. I like Family Guy, but The Simpson's are the Elmo of Prime-Time TV! Popular, will never go away no matter what, and will they use this for their credits one day?...

But instead, they'd say "This is the show that doesn't end"! They're the ****in' Energizer Bunny!...

CBS basically ruled and has ruled the airwaves in television history. Their zenith was the 1960's when CBS shows basically has over 15 programs or more in the Top 20. Called the Tiffany Network for a reason.

ABC had a good run in the 1970s, and NBC in the 1980's. But CBS ruled.

Agreed, though I would give the 2000s to FOX.

*The Bernie Mac Show
*Malcolm in the Middle
*Arrested Development (for some, not me)
*Method & Red (IMO)
*American Dad
*Family Guy
*King of the Hill
*Futurama
*That 70s Show (for some, not me)

Overall, CBS followed by NBC. For as old as ABC is, the classic shows are in relatively low numbers. The amount of classic sitcoms on Fox have been low, but they're still young compared to ABC.

Do you periodically check YouTube to see if any more of those Energizer bunny parody ads have been uploaded like I do?

I've liked a lot of sitcoms on ABC, CBS, and NBC. FOX is easily the weakest.

ABC
1. Benson
2. Mr. Belvedere
3. Barney Miller
4. The Wonder Years
5. The Middle
6. Home Improvement
7. Hope and Faith
8. Mork and Mindy
9. Bewitched
10. Boy Meets World

CBS
1. Family Affair
2. WKRP in Cincinnati
3. Murphy Brown
4. I Love Lucy/The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour
5. The Andy Griffith Show
6. Petticoat Junction
7. Newhart
8. M*A*S*H
9. Gomer Pyle, USMC
10. The Mary Tyler Moore Show

NBC
1. Frasier
2. Dag
3. Family Ties
4. Mad About You
5. Wings
6. I Dream of Jeannie
7. The Facts of Life
8. Blossom
9. Night Court
10. Different Strokes

FOX
1. Back to You
2. Raising Hope
gap
3. Malcolm in the Middle
4. The Goodwin Games
5. couldn't even finish a top 5 for FOX

I'd probably go with CBS from the 50's to the late 70's. Then It would be ABC in the mid to late 70's while NBC was king in the 80's.
