"Impractical Jokers" Renewed for Season 5 at TruTV

TruTV has greenlighted a 26-episode fifth season of prankster show "Impractical Jokers". It comes on the heels of the series’ successful Live Punishment Special on September 3 that celebrated the show’s 100th episode.

Ever since they were in high school together, the four friends at the center of "Impractical Jokers" have challenged one another to do ridiculous things in public. Now all grown up, they are capturing their extreme dares on hidden camera, complete with unsuspecting strangers’ amused, confused or flabbergasted reactions.

After completing each dare, the guys are given a thumbs-up or a thumbs-down to determine who succeeded under pressure and who collapsed in defeat. At the end of each episode, the one with the most fails must face a mortifying punishment with truly humiliating consequences.

I just recently discovered this show. It's a riot. Some of their pranks are lame, but others have me truly laughing out loud. Joe's my favorite. "Larryy!!!!"

awesome!! there hilarious!! my mom got me the first seaon on dvd of the impractical jokers it was only $13 bucks!! there coming to chattanoogan,tn some time next month or november!! not really sure if i will go or not!! but they crack me up!! so far my two favorites are Q & joe!! Q he doesn't say nothing bad if the jokers make him say it!! i like joe he makes these funny faces hes just crazy !! i also like murr & sale both are really funny!! murr is also hilarious!!

Turner’s truTV has unveiled its 2017-18 programming slate, with eight returning series, five new series, and four pilots and projects in development.

"Impractical Jokers" received a 7th Season pickup.

"Impractical Jokers" already is TruTV’s longest-running series, and now the cable net has ordered a 26-episode eighth season, The Turner-owned network also said today that Funny or Die will produce the brand’s first feature-length film, which veteran TV producer Chris Henchy will direct.

The film will tell the story of a humiliating high school mishap from 1992 that sends the Impractical Jokers on the road competing in hidden-camera challenges for the chance to turn back the clock and redeem three of the four.

The renewal for "Impractical Jokers", TruTV’s top-rated show, is for 26 episodes and will take the series into 2019. Season 8 will include the series’ 200th episode.

The announcement was made tonight at the fourth annual "Impractical Jokers" fan event at the Park at Petco Park in San Diego during a special live streamed Q&A.

WarnerMedia continues to build on the strength of truTV’s flagship franchise "Impractical Jokers".

The company has ordered 10 additional episodes of truTV’s remotely shot "Impractical Jokers: Dinner Party" and the feature film Impractical Jokers: The Movie will make its streaming premiere on HBO Max on September 1.

“The Impractical Jokers franchise continues to deliver each and every time,” said Brett Weitz, General Manager of TNT, TBS and truTV. “The plan is continue to grow their business from an incredibly solid foundation and deliver to a passionate fanbase that’s second to none.”
