Default Health updates on Mary and Valerie?

It's been several weeks since Valerie Harper's medical emergency (before her stage performance), and there has been no update aside from one tweet in early August.

Mary, as we all know, is suffering from the effects of her diabetes and other illnesses (including the brain surgery she had a few years ago).

Has anyone heard any recent, factual updates on either lady?

Good question. And that brings another question to my mind. Poor Mary, I wonder if she knew what smoking and drinking would have done to her health in later life, if she would have started or continued each habit. I know that both can aggravate diabetes in addition to a host of other ailments. I've read her books and she admits she was a heavy drinker and of course a smoker.

I just have a bad feeling about Valerie's health.... That this last incident has caused more concern that anyone is letting on.

I know what you're saying but I have the feeling that somehow Mary might go first and neither of them getting to see Betty White celebrate her 100th Birthday [which I DO think is a strong probability].

O MY GOD! I didn't know about all this-how long has all this been going on? And I didn't know that Mary has diabetes. I knew she smoked YEARS ago (when they were making the Van Dyke show the sponsor used to give the cast cartons of Kent cigarettes) but I didn't know she was a heavy smoker AND a heavy drinker (I knew that Dick's an alcoholic)
Didn't Valerie have cancer or something 3 or 4 years ago?

Valerie tweeted at the end of September, but nothing was mentioned about her health.

I do hope she is okay...

Have you been living under a rock? J/K

Valerie was diagnosed a few years ago with a terminal brain cancer. She has responded well to treatment, until the incident a few months back. She did have lung cancer before that, but it was treated.

Mary's health has been in a sad decline. It's obvious in her appearance with all TMTMS ladies in their "Hot in Cleveland" reunion.

Hot in Cleveland was one of the few remaining fairly good sitcoms, but it got cancelled.

This is hardly news. MTM has Type 1 diabetes (AKA juvenile diabetes). She was diagnosed in 1969 and has always, ALWAYS been very public about it. She's been a spokesperson for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation FOR DECADES and has done countless ads for them.
