Default Do you want to explain your screen name?

Some are self explanatory, some are a bit more cryptic. Mine, for example, comes from the name of the penguin in Bloom County, my favorite comic strip growing up.

Thumbs up

When I was a child, I designed and built a Model Rocket which I named "Regulus" after the brightest star in Leo (My Astrological sign) In 1978 I sent the plans to Estes, and It won their "Design of the Month" award, which I used to buy a years supply of rocket engines. That rocket now dangles on a Mobile with three other rockets I designed that also won this award as well.

PS. I'm NOT into astrology!

Penny Lane is the title of a Beatles song. The song is about a street in Liverpool,England named Penny Lane

While the song is called "Penny Lane" and is a road in Liverpool, the song is really a reference to the Penny Lane Bus Station (now gone) next to "The shelter in the middle of the roundabout" (now the Sgt. Peppers bistro). When the boys were young they used to meet at this bus station as it was a hub to get them anywhere else they wanted to go and was centrally located to all of them.

I'm a huge fan of bad horror flicks, and a huge fan of Mystery Science Theater 3000. One of my favorite episodes was when they watched the 1966 schlockfest Manos: The Hands Of Fate, featuring the character Torgo.

My current avatar pic is a puppet version of Torgo.

It's not after the ghost ship that dooms anyone to eternal damnation upon seeing it.. I like to fly small planes and ultralights. Also I am part dutch. Hence my name. I just use the avatar because I think the ship looks so cool.

At one point (and sometimes even to today), I feel like the city I live in which is...of course...Cleveland!...

The city had a dismal moment between 1969 and 1979 when it was called "Mistake on the Lake", even though we went through The Cleveland Renaissance (1980-2001) and The Poverty Years (2002-2008), we still have our sports teams that have 51 years of futility. And I sometimes feel like my city...getting the shaft...the Mr part is...because I'm a male so it's self-explanatory!
