Default HBO’s Project Greenlight reveals why Hollywood still has a diversity problem

http://www.slate.com/blogs/browbeat/...d_exactly.html

On the season premiere, Matt Damon awkwardly explained diversity to a top black producer. "When you’re talking about diversity, you do it in the casting of the film, not the casting of the show,” Damon said, arguing that the Project Greenlight competition shouldn’t take diversity into consideration. That comment resulted in a Twitter backlash against Damon.

Hollywood is a left wing propaganda machine. They do nothing but promote blacks, women and gays.

Blacks are 12% of the population which means that 88% of the characters on TV or in movies shouldn't be black. There's no chance of that. Rarely do I see on the cable movies I flip through for a few seconds not have a black person in it.

If you want "diversity", have a few movies with a conservative point of view. That would be real "diversity".

What a typical whining, conservative crybaby. Your perspective of TV and film characters deviates so far from reality, it's pretty hilarious. And the fact that it disturbs you so much to see blacks on TV makes me wonder what size robe and hood you wear.

Nobody wants to watch movies and TV shows about conservative viewpoints. It's a dying ideology, thankfully, getting routinely crushed in national polls and elections. And it would make for extremely dull narratives (just like the people themselves who hold those archaic views).

Default Why does Project Greenlight continue turning out terrible movies?

http://www.hitfix.com/whats-alan-wat....co/TqDVpc9blV

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck have once again proven they are good at selecting the best filmmaker for this reality competition. PLUS: This season was an object lesson in how the art and business of movies work together, this season is a reminder that the world is full of Jason Manns, Project Greenlight set up Mann as the fall guy, and Effie Brown became the breakout star of this season.

And how was Babalu's post NOT reeking of white supremacy? He says that rarely does he see a Cable TV Movie that doesn't have a black person in it. There's no way to look at that and say it isn't white supremacy.

And no, I'm not saying blacks are superior to whites; I'm just calling it as I see it.

Your post was no better than Babalou's... especially the cheap shot at him being a Klan member and a conservative.

Also... since when it the conservative viewpoint getting crushed and dying off? The past 8 years (of failure) have pretty much accelerated it.

Don't be such an obtuse fool. Barack Obama comfortably won the last two general elections for president. Same-sex marriage is becoming legal in more states as the years go on. Marijuana legalization is increasing. At the national level, things are clearly, obviously moving left, not right.

And as for Gay Marriage getting legalized... so what? Anyone who prefers a traditional marriage still has the right to that. That's the most important thing. Even when all 50 states get legalized, including Texas, NOBODY will lose their rights to a traditional marriage.

"So what"?! For years, right wingers have been fighting to stop same-sex marriage from becoming legal.

And right wingers lost.
