HEADS-UP: Investigation Discovery will be airing a new Evil Kin episode titled "Lost Highway," which focuses on Ward Weaver III. He is currently serving life in an Oregon prison for the 2002 abduction and murders of Miranda Gaddis and Ashley Pond. UM highlighted the disappearances of the two girls that year; their bodies were found and Weaver was arrested in August 2002, one month before the segment originally aired. Weaver's father, Ward Weaver Jr., is on California's death row for murdering a young couple in 1981.

Thank you for the heads up on this one Kane. While we're not exactly the epitome of small town living in Oregon City, I have always considered us to be a friendly, close knit community. This tragic crime was a shock to many of us and a wake up call in many respects. Those of us who always thought that violent crime happens elsewhere, never here, were reminded that yes, it happens here too. The property where Weaver resided and committed his crimes was razed to the ground almost immediately following his conviction. To this day it stands as an empty plot of land, well maintained, and seems to have become a silent memorial to Ashley Pond and Miranda Gaddis. I think about this case every time I drive down that street.
