It's funny. Even though I was a television geek during the Sixties and Seventies, I have very little memory of this show. Of course, I knew it existed, and that James Drury was the nominal star, but that Doug McClure was the fan favorite. But that's it. I've heard that the format changed repeatedly, and that many actors on the show died during production. Can someone give me a brief synopsis of what "The Virginian" was about?

I watched the show with my dad when I was a kid. I was a big fan of Doug McClure. I just remember it being like other western tv shows with a little bit of humor on some of the episodes. They also had a variety of guest stars, like the pop star Fabian, plus many others. |
