Ginger was the embodiment of everything a "Bond Girl" was, she was beautiful, sexy, funny, smart, mischievous, seductive, shallow, and manipulative. This is to the credits of the writers and Tina Louise who brought her to life. Too bad that she belonged to CBS and Sherwood Schwartz because outside of the show, her character would of sizzled on screen. It's a shame that Tina hated the character so much, because as Ginger, she was beautiful and after Ginger, none of the other characters she played even come close to the beauty that Ginger was.
I have to give credit to Tina Louise though, because she was more than skin-deep, she was an actor who wanted to advanced in her craft even beyond physical beauty after "Gilligan's Island" ended, she played characters that were less than dowdy in appearances than Ginger and more similar to Eva Grubb, and it was her choice and not anyone else's. |

If anything I don't think she was athletic enough. No doubting she's a great actress though.

I don't think she was natural enough. She was way too cartoonish. I think she was great as the seductress, but not much else.

Cartoonish, as opposed to the Bond Girls? ***** Galore, Plenty O'Toole, Log Cabin Girl, Holly Goodhead, Octopussy, those women are very professional. I know that you have to suspend reality when watching Gilligan's Island, but then again, don't you do the same when watching 007 movies? I assumed that it is two different mediums, one is a sitcom and the other is a movie but those women have stunt actors to do the hard part, right? Oh, and Ginger isn't easy, that's the difference.

I agree with geremi. She would have been good as a Bond-girl. However, did you know that she did guest-star in one of the Dean Martin spy comedies Matt Helm in either 1967 or 1969. She was like a Bond girl there as Helm was a spy and she was one of his gals.

I read that she also auditioned for a few of the Elvis films, but she was turned down. Not because of type casting, because they used alot of TV actresses in his movies, but because she was too old for the parts. She was older than Elvis by 11 months

Her part in the movie was not very substantial. |
