This is somewhat shocking.
The 72 year old wrestling legend, who has stomach cancer, is confined to a wheelchair these days, has a feeding tube and is reportedly close to death, has been charged in the 32 year old murder of his girlfriend, Nancy Argentino. Not only is Snuka being accused of inflicting her fatal injuries, but he is also being accused of waiting many hours to attempt to get her help. Snuka was married with 4 children at the time. Snuka was arrested, but made bail. His lawyers are arguing that he would not have the mental competence to stand trial due to years of head injuries suffered in the ring. Snuka is perhaps most famous for appearing in the main event of the first ever WrestleMania, and being one of the innovators of high-flying techniques in the ring. I don't know, considering he is in very poor physical heath and getting on in years, I can't see them going through with a long trial, if he even lives that long. A lot of people in the sport died before the age of 72. http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/...icle-1.2346455 |

Who cares how old he is.
Nancy Argentino deserves justice. There is no statute of limitations on murder. |

There was always a missing piece to the puzzle. I mean you heard about this yet you didnt know the true facts. Snuka just crapped on his legacy but I'm glad the victim's family gets justice and maybe some closure.

The thing I find amazing is that the police were compelled to reopen the investigation because Snuka had an autobiography published three years ago in which he described the circumstances of his girlfriend's death, but his story was completely different than the one he originally told police back in 1983. As in, he originally claimed that his Argentino accidentally fell and hit her head after he pushed her outside their motel, but in the book, claimed that she fell while walking towards the washroom at a rest stop!
That sounds like a colossally stupid mistake, but given all the drugs and brain trauma, I wouldn't be surprised if Snuka legitimately doesn't remember what actually happened. |

Man, what a year for wrestling. Roddy Piper and Dusty Rhodes are dead, Hogan is a racist homophobe, and now this. Not to mention this is the year of the celebrity rapist/pedophile. Bill Cosby, Josh Duggar, Dennis Hastert, Jared Fogle. They can go to Hell, all of them. |

Those all shocked me. It really did. Btw, who's Dennis Hastert? And yes, what a tough year for wrestling. I hope, though, that Hogan gets his head on straight. |

Here's a lengthy, informative article. I must say things don't paint Snuka in a positive light here:
http://www.thedailybeast.com/article...fly-snuka.html Said that the married Snuka was a serial adulterer with many girlfriends around the country, and also had a history of abusing women, including past incidents involving Nancy, not to mention his own wife. I'm surprised they never charged Snuka considering several of his versions of events have him admitting he roughed up Nancy. What's really pathetic though was that Nancy's family won a lawsuit for wrongful death against Snuka in 1985 (the same year he left the WWF), but he declared bankruptcy to avoid paying. This is a load of crap, especially since Snuka returned to the WWF in 1989 and stayed for 3 years, no doubt earning a ton of money. Nancy's family has never seen a dime. |

It's still blows my mind that the most iconic moment of Snuka's career (his dive off the top of the cage at Madison Square Garden) took place a mere five months after his girlfriend's death. I guess Snuka and the WWF should consider themselves grateful there was no Internet or 24-hour news cycle back then. I started watching wrestling as a kid during the 1980s, but had no idea the Superfly was ever suspected of murder until many years after the fact.

How could you go on wrestling knowing you killed someone?

Murderers go on doing whatever they were doing every day. Why should a fake wrestler be any different? Did OJ stop playing golf? |

This was pretty much common knowledge among the wrestling community for years that he was guilty. Pre-internet, they had the hotlines and the magazines which detailed all sorts of sordid details about wrestler's personal lives, and Snuka was one of the hottest stories. The evidence against him is monumental. Guilty!
