Default What show did you want to like, but didn't?

You were all set for it, planned to get into it, but it didn't do it for you, and you bailed quickly.

One that is very much like that for me is Northern Exposure.

In my case it is the Michael J. Fox Show as I love spin City and like Fox himself also very much. But honestly I only watched a few minutes of the Pilot of MJF-Show so far so perhaps I will like it one day. But presumbly not because usually a few minutes are enough if I really like a series

Michael J. Fox Show
The Goldbergs

and many other new sitcoms that I had hoped would be good IMHO.

I have several but the very first one that pops into my head is The Honeymooners.

Absolutely! Even $10 (which I paid for the Classic 39 release at the Wal-Mart a time back) is too much for, IMO, one of the most unfunny comedies in the history of the medium.

Eastbound and Down. I thought it tried too hard to be edgy...you're on HBO, the F-bombs are already expected!

2 Broke Girls (it was funny at times but gets repetitive)
Family Ties (could never understand its popularity)
How I Met Your Mother (at times tends to veer off its original premise)

Family Ties only became popular after The Cosby Show debuted.

I loved Family Ties in its original run, up until year 6.
It was my favourite sitcom of the 80's. (before the Golden Girls)

Then in year 6 I started to get bored and was not as into it the final 2 years. I thought it was because by then Micheal J. Fox was outgrowing the role of Alex.

Now when I see it in reruns, I still watch it but I'm not as into it.

And Cheers only became popular after it was moved after TCS and FT. So what's your point? I know the series last show was #1 for the week and it aired on a Sunday and Cosby was nowhere to be found so it had it's own audience.

True Detective

I was super excited to finally watch the HBO hit series. I knew it would be slow, and I was willing to give it time. In the end, however, I ABSOLUTELY HATED it. One huge bore and waste of time.
