Sad news as friends and family have announced the passing of filmmaker David A. Prior after a “…long battle with failing health“. He died this past weekend, days after his 59th birthday.

Prior was the man behind many cult sci-fi, action, and horror titles throughout the 80’s and 90’s, although he began making movies again in the late 00’s. Some of the titles he wrote and directed were War Of The Living Dead, The Final Sanction (which starred Maniac Cop‘s Robert Z’Dar), Night Trap, and Sledgehammer, which is thought to be the first ever shot-on-tape slasher.

We send our condolences to his friends and family.

That's really sad.

As a lover of cheesy movies he made some of my favorites. Including one of the best bad action flicks Deadly Prey (1987), starring his brother Ted Prior, Ted starred in many of his brother's films. They even did a sequel in 2013 titled Deadliest Prey. Another great was the 80s slasher Killer Workout.
