Well.......I met Lisa today! - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Today was my day to meet Lisa! I'll tell you all about it:

My husband, our kids and I took off to the mall where Lisa was going to be. We were a bit dressed up as afterwards we were going to my folks house to celebrate Easter. When we were walking through the mall to the bookstore she was at I started getting very nervous. But as soon as I rounded the corner, I saw her and immediatly calmed down. She had such a warm presence to her. She was sitting at a table next to a display of her book and there was only one other person talking to her. We walked up and she greeted us. She began complimenting my daughter (15 months) on her Easter dress and asked her name. Then I introduced my son (3 1/2). He said he had an itch on his arm and she asked to see it. She said she doesn't like it either when she's itchy. Was so nice to them! She signed my book and all the while, my son was interrupting us. She kept on calling him "sweetpea" and finally he said, "but I'm not sweetpea, I'm Jonathan". She smiled and said, "well, it's just a fun name to use". My son asked where her kids were and she said they were back at the RV. She said they took a tour of the White House today. I recommended that they see the National Cathedral if they had time. She thanked me for the suggestion. Then my husband took a picture of she and I with the kids. I hope it turns out! It was so surreal standing there talking to her, in person. She is no doubt Lisa Whelchel and is even more beautiful up close. I thanked her for her inspiration and for all the time she has taken to share her life with us. She seemed pleased. Then my husband took my son to the back of the store to play with a train set and I wheeled my daughter in her stroller browsing the books. I kept looking towards Lisa, a few people came up but for the most part she just sat there. I really should have taken the opportunity to talk to her more. I don't know why I didn't. She seemed very happy to be there but at the same time I could sense a bit of shyness to her too.

Well, that's my story. I am still reeling that I actually met her, again it was so surreal. I won't ever forget it!

I hate you! You got to meet Lisa and I was stuck at home with my dachshunds and mom. My sister is in New York City with her boyfriend and his mom, he goes to a marine academy for college. I was stuck running errands today and you met a celeberty! I hate you! Did you spaz out at all? Not even once? Come on! Do you think once you get the pictures back you can scan the one onto the boards? I would love to see it! Don't let Karli yell at me! she yelled at me enough yesterday!

omg..eva that sounded sooo cool and so real and amazing and cool and i am so jealous right now! ugh...i loved reading about your experience...she seemed so nice in her book so naturally she's even nicer in person. lol...about what ur son said and what she said back...hmm...

You are so lucky Eva to meet Lisa! I'd want to meet her, but I won't mind if I don't ever get to. It's just one of those things that you can't control. Maybe she'll guest star on my T.V. show in a couple of years! LOL I would Love that, but I don't know if she wants to act anymore. Does anyone know if she'll ever go back to acting, even just little guest appearances? Thanx!!!
