Default Color picture of Dennis with Mom & Dad

So this was the color of Dennis's overalls and striped shirt? And Mom was a red head and not a blonde like I always thought!

Such a shame there were no color episodes.... in the Superman series at least in season 5 they used color film.... It would have been nice to see the actual color....

I'm still in shock that Alice was a red head! I guess I just assumed blonde because Dennis was so blonde, it would make sense that one of his parents would be too! It's funny how red hair looks blonde on TV. Like on I love Lucy, we all knew she was a red head, cause it was mentioned all the time, and it was Lucille Ball's trademark! But her hair color on black & white TV didn't really look any different than Vivian Vance's blonde hair!

I think everyone assumed that she was a blonde because Mrs. Mitchell in the comic strip was blonde. At least in the comic books I had when I was a child she was blonde!

If I am not mistaken, Jay was not a real blonde and had to have his hair dyed..... Not positive, but thought I read that somewhere......

Yep, he was a brunette. In the 1974 flick The Teacher, he has brown hair.

Yeah I remember when you posted those pictures. I knew his hair got a lot darker when he got older. I always thought he was born a natural blonde and it just got darker with age. That happens with a lot of people. But Jay North's hair was SO BLONDE! almost looked white. So you guys are probably right!

Susan Olsen (Cindy) from the Brady Bunch had her hair dyed . She was a natural blonde , but more a dark blonde/light brown color. Not as blonde as she was! As you probably know already, poor Bobby. They dyed his hair darker to make him look more like Mike and the other boys than the last couple of seasons , they just let him has his natural lighter hair color!

Ah yeah, that's true, I have a friend who when younger had blonde hair, but it's brown now, except when he's out in the sun for a length of time.

I'm the opposite. I started out with brown hair, than went blonde! (With a little help from a bottle and a hairdresser)!LOL My sister was born a blonde and it was really blonde till she hit her teens than it stared getting dishwater blonde , light brown. So she gets it colored to true blonde like I do! She's funny though. She really thinks people don't know!

I wonder why they didn't cast a dog to play "Ruff" in the series? Mr. Wilson had Fremont, but Dennis didn't have his dog Ruff in the show!
