Default POLL: Cats or Dogs?

Would you say you are a cat or a dog person more? Or other animal as your favorite?

Growing up we mostly had dogs but I always loved cats. So after I got married I added some cats to go with the dogs that my husband had. Right now we only have one cat and no dogs.

I have two cats, both females, and my brother has one, also a female (therefore, all our cats are females). The only male animal in this family is my brother's dog.

I figured from your adorable avatar pic that you would be a cat person!

I voted cat, mainly because the last several years we've had cats. But I grew up around both cats and dogs, and when I first got together with my wife she had a dog. And we just got a new dog recently, which is our first one since the 90s. Here's a pic of him:

Cats. I have one cat named Romeo. He's a tuxedo cat.

I grew up having a dog. When he died I took it hard. I prefer cats though.

That is a cute dog! I like cute little dogs, but big dogs sort of scare me. Well not really scare me, but I'm wary of dogs. Thinking they might bite or attack me. Where as I have no fear of cats at all, and I love all cats. With dogs I'm more selective. But I wouldn't mind having a sweet little lap dog. ( I really like dachshunds) ! And English Bull Dogs. They can be big, but not scary, they are adorable I think, and very mellow. The little French Bull dogs are cute too!

But still if I had to have one or the other. I'd pick a cat hands down!

Thanks Wawwie and Bonnie!
He's a handful right now, trying to get him house trained, and to walk on a leash. Also he loves shoes so we have to either make sure our shoes are in the closet or up where he can't get them.

I wish there was a "both" button. I love them both ( currently have 3 dogs and 4 cats), but I'm more of a dog person. Cats are easier, tho. If I lived alone and worked full time, I'd definitely go the 2 cats route. Fortunately, I work from home which makes it easier on my 3 pups during the day.

Cool! We got a vote for 'other animal" ! They are cute!

If I had a big yard/and lived in a more rural area I'd love to have a pet goat. I love goats! Also ducks . I would love to have a duck pond and have pet ducks!
