I just watched Catherine Korzillius segment. (sorry about the spelling). At the start when the mother dropped her off and then drove away you can see her pulling back onto the street and its clearly visible that her mother should have seen her walking the other way. I think its a habit of any parent to look in the review mirror when pulling back onto the main road or highway after getting the mail or having car trouble or just talking on a phone. You want to see if any vehicle is coming and also want to make sure your kid is walking away safely (if you dropped them off).
Now I saw this segment many times and also many times after multiple posts on this site about her "murder" or "accident". But I never thought about the start of the segment, maybe like 5 or 15 seconds after the start. I bet the mom saw her walking away in the rearview mirror. She probably just didn't talk about seeing her walk away because she was in a panic and talked about what the heck happened or who killed her. Initially I believed Catherine was murdered. Then after this site I thought she jumped on the back. But now I will forever think she was murdered. You cant prove me otherwise no more! |

That's a good point. Even if someone didn't look at the rearview it would be really hard not to notice anything large covering up window space on a car you're in.
I haven't read the main thread in a long time so maybe there was already a lot of back and forth over this. |

There's a huge thread about her on the front page.
I wouldn't put any stock in the re-enactment, particularly in this case - obviously, the mom would prefer to believe that Katherine walked off in the direction of their home before she drove away, but we don't know that to be true. I maintain it's just as likely that she disappeared from sight and sat on the bumper and the mom, distracted, was none the wiser. There's a lot of denial in that segment. |
