Ed Sheeran Concert Special Coming to NBC

For Stateside Sheerios who couldn’t catch Ed Sheeran at London’s Wembley Stadium this summer — where he was joined onstage by Sir Elton John — fear not: You can experience it from home.

NBC announced on Friday that it will air Ed Sheeran — Live at Wembley Stadium, a one-hour special documenting Sheeran’s three sold-out performances at the stadium, on Sunday, Aug. 16 at 8 p.m. ET.

Performances include his hits “The A Team” and “Thinking Out Loud” and his performance of “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” with John.





“I can’t say that performing at Wembley Stadium was a ‘dream come true,’ because I honestly thought it was out of reach and didn’t think it was possible,” Sheeran said in a statement on Friday.

“But with each tour, the venues continued to grow and it became something of a challenge to see how far we could take it, how big we could go and still deliver a show that connected with the entire audience. It really doesn’t get any bigger than Wembley in my mind and it was an honour to join the select few that have headlined there. It’s definitely a personal milestone and I’m so glad to share this special moment with all of my fans.”
